New research commissioned by @uber_australia found 87% of Aussies are holding onto clothes they never wear, while 38% admit their donation bag has sat around for a month or more before actually making it to a charity shop.

A room full of creativity, connection and community

We were lucky enough to be invited to @theenrgspace for an evening hosted alongside @oneanother.community and @ccsocial101, bringing together some incredible Central Coast community builders and content creators.

An evening of sharing stories, exchanging ideas, making new connections and exploring opportunities to collaborate, all while enjoying the beautiful, relaxing facilities at The ENRG Space.

It was such a lovely reminder of how much talent, passion and creativity we have right here on the Central Coast.

Thank you for bringing us all together. We left feeling relaxed, inspired and excited for what's to come! by @ccsocial101

“You’re so lucky you get to travel for work.”

I am.

Like, genuinely, pinch-myself-sometimes lucky.

But I do occasionally laugh at what “travelling for work” actually looks like from the other side of the camera.

Because particularly when I’m travelling with Albie, I’m not just the travel writer.

I’m Mum. Driver. Photographer. Publicist. Itinerary manager. Keeper of passports. Finder of chargers. Provider of snacks. Negotiator of screen time. And the person simultaneously trying to remember the name of the dish I’m supposed to be reviewing while being asked whether the hotel has YouTube.

Then somewhere amongst all of that, I need to actually experience the place.

Notice things. Talk to people. Take notes. Take photos. Ask questions. Make deadlines. And eventually turn it all into a story somebody might want to read.

I’m absolutely not complaining.

In fact, after years spent pitching other people’s stories, the fact that travelling and writing my own is now legitimately part of my job still feels slightly ridiculous to say out loud.

Hosted travel is still work.

It just happens to be work I bloody love.

And sometimes the office has a considerably better view.

So yes. I’m lucky.

And increasingly, I’m realising that’s kind of the point. I worked very hard to build a life containing more of the things I feel lucky to be doing. by @ccsocial101

A CLOSER LOOK: @theenrgspace

Some places are created not just for what they offer, but for how they make people feel.

What I love about the ENRG space is the intention behind it. Born from a desire to create a recovery space that feels calm, natural and genuinely supportive, ENRG is a little sanctuary on the Central Coast where you can step away from the busyness of everyday life.

From the outdoor sauna and ice bath to the magnesium pool and therapeutic spa, every element invites you to slow down, reconnect with yourself and simply be present.

And I think that’s something we could all use a little more of. A place where there’s no pressure to do anything other than take care of yourself.

It’s lovely to see more spaces like this being created in our community, with so much thought and purpose behind them. 🤍

A lovely evening of slowing down, unwinding and connecting with some wonderful people on the Coast. 🤍

Thank you @theenrgspace @oneanother.community and @ccsocial101 for bringing together Central Coast community builders and content creators for an evening of rest, meaningful conversations and shared stories.

We also got to experience ENRG’s sauna, ice bath, magnesium pool and therapeutic spa, which made the evening even more special.

I went home feeling grateful for the new connections and the little reminder that there’s so much more to discover about the people who make up our community, and the shared love we have for the coast.

Normal brain:
“I’ve run out of fabric softener. I’ll order some.”

My brain:

Great. Laundry is no longer available as a concept.

Never mind that I have already washed the SAME LOAD THREE TIMES because I forgot to take it out.

The truly baffling bit of ADHD isn’t that I don’t know what needs doing.

I know.

I can see it.

I would quite like it to be done.

There is simply an invisible forcefield between knowing the next extremely simple step and… doing the extremely simple step.

Anyway, if anyone needs me, I’ll be buying more underwear.

Other people have Instagram husbands. I have an Instagram ten-year-old.

His rates are extortionate. His creative direction is questionable. He requires frequent snack breaks and occasionally just walks off mid-shoot.

But every now and then… he absolutely nails the brief.

Last time we found the groups. This time we’re looking at where they happen.

Because community doesn’t only happen in community centres.

It happens on pickleball courts. In cafés. Coworking spaces. Wellness studios. Galleries. Workshops. Play spaces. Old cinemas.

These are some of the Central Coast places giving us a reason to leave the house, do something we enjoy and, quite often, meet someone while we’re there.

Because sometimes finding your people starts with finding somewhere worth showing up to.

We know we’ve missed some. That’s the point.
