Our very own @mitchalcaraz17 is swimming 100km this month for a great cause trying to raise money for youth mental health. He has been doing the hard yards even before work early in the morning then jumping on the trowel all day sometimes doing 2kms before most have even gotten out of bed. Any donation is much appreciated as it’s quite impressive and rare for such a young man to be getting uncomfortable like this for a good cause! https://www.lapitup.org.au/fundraisers/mitchalcaraz/lapitup2026. Plenty of texture in the details at Chewton.

Recycled brick paired with warm timber and corrugated steel, bringing plenty of character to the build.

Meet Hamish, owner of C&D Bricklaying.

With 15 years of experience in the trade, Hamish takes pride in delivering quality workmanship and leading a team that genuinely cares about the finished product.

Outside of work, you’ll usually find Hamish in the gym before the sun’s up. He’s a passionate Carlton supporter… especially when they’re winning 😉

On weekends, he’s captaining the Macedon Cats, where his pre-game routine is best left untouched.. he’s one of the most superstitious people you’ll meet. If he’s not running around on the field himself, he’s coaching his son’s Under 11 football team or spending quality time with his family.

Stick around as we introduce the rest of the C&D crew over the coming weeks. by @cd.bricklaying

This recently completed Early Learning Centre in Preston was built to serve the local community for years to come, with quality brickwork that not only looks the part but is built to last.

It’s the small details that make the biggest difference, even in the smaller spaces! taken in Woodend, Victoria by @cd.bricklaying

This custom brick chimney was designed to be a true feature of the build. The subtle taper through the shaft draws your eye upward to the stepped, corbelled crown, with layered banding that adds depth and strong shadow lines for a timeless, heritage-inspired look.

A lot of thought went into the design and execution of this one, and we’re proud of how it came together as a standout feature of the home.
