As well as new Engcon yesterday we recently took delivery of our new to us Valtra T234 direct twintrac and seppi fixed tooth mulcher. As soon as it landed it went straight to @c_j_cox_ltd to have its incredible @projernac guarding package fitted on the underneath with the potential to add the additional can guarding at a later date. The tractor and @seppimulcher have already completed its first job helping on a molinia and scrub regen clearance job as part of our restoration works this season! by @cd_forestryenvironmental

Out on site with Callum and the team at CD Forestry photographing another wetland restoration project in action 🌿

This one saw both JCB 150X HDS machines working hard — the newest joining just in time for mulching and drainage ditch infill around areas of self-set regen trees.

Over 2 hectares of silver birch were removed to help peatland recovery, with selective thinning and ditch blocking raising water levels and taking the first key steps in re-wetting and re-wilding the land.

The current job still on going with around the last 1000 ton of stone to be placed. At nearly 3 months of duration the end is in sight, it is and and has been a great project and is really rare for us to be on one job for so long! We were also treated to the opportunity to try something new before it was officially released 👀 by @cd_forestryenvironmental

The old 370x from @jcbmachines has nothing on the mighty 150xHD 💪🏼 this week starting a cut into the rock on the top of the hill to reduce the crown height and steepness for the new forest roadjob we’re currently working on. That being said though, if anyone from @jcbmachines is interested we would take a 370x, with all the toys and maybe an engcon EC233 that would be great 🫣👌 by @cd_forestryenvironmental

The new year kicking off well with a recently completed project for natural England, working on another (dry) wetland we cleared and removed 280ton of Scott’s pine that went for biomass, 50ton of shaver bar and about 50ton of hardwood to gain access across the site to infill ditches dug hundreds of years ago in the aim to re-wetting the just over 2 hectares to aid the creation of more peat using both of our 150xHD excavators and timber trailer. The lads worked through some horrendous conditions and everyone came to together to get it over the line on time with a very happy client @naturalengland #wetland #restoration #peatlands #cdfe #forestry by @cd_forestryenvironmental

As we brace ourselves for being back to work next week we can conclusively say things can only get better and brighter! To start the year in such a way wasn’t how we had it planned but it doesn’t always go to plan. After 16 wonderful years we sadly laid my best friend Bailey to rest today, we gained a bonus 12 months from him after his stroke back in January 25 to which he wasn’t quite the same after but he soldiered on none the less! Over the years there have been literally hundreds of people who were lucky enough to work alongside Bailey and I know he made their days brighter and more beautiful 🌅 to my one of a kind pup ❤️ 🐶 by @cd_forestryenvironmental

Another wetland restoration project recently completed, this time utilising both of our JCB 150xHDS. The newest machine arrived just in time to be involved in mulching and drainage ditch infill around the areas of self set re gen trees that were being removed. On this job we clear felled an removed just short of 2 hectares or silver birch to aid in the peatland recovery, selectively thinned and removed edges trees to block and infill multiple other drainage ditches to raise the water level on some newly acquired land and take the first crucial steps into re-wetting and re-wilding pasture land. #jcb #jcb150xhd #cdfe #jcbmachines #jcbexcavator #machines #wetland #heathland #peatland #forestry #siteclearance #seppi #engcon #botex by @cd_forestryenvironmental

A good start to the latest restoration project, just over a hectare of aged birch re gen to clear fell and then onto channel infilling and flood plain re connection. Typically though there’s always a minor inconvenience! A quick call to my local @holtjcb and luckily they had one in stock. #jcb #jcb150xhd #jcbmachines #jcbexcavator #wetland #peatlandrestoration #restoration #treeremoval #forest #forestry by @cd_forestryenvironmental
