1.Sterre der Zee (Star of the Sea), the guidance. The light that appears when we are crossing, even when the horizon disappears.
2.Me, the sailor, on a real journey across seas, borders, and storms, with doubts, courage, longing, and hope.
3.The fusion, integration, and transformation.The exact moment when the symbol stops being external and starts living inside me. (also signs that a person is getting older by making such stupid collages)

Sterre der Zee in Maastricht, Hekate Einalia, Isis (Star of the Nile), Iemanjá, and Our Lady of the Navigators in the waters of Brazil and in my heart. Different symbols, but the same light. ( burn the same light :)

I am not religious, I just read symbols, keep their meanings, and use them as my personal oracle.

Like a good immigrant, which I am (proudly), I keep crossing seas with visible storms (because the weather here can be really bad) and invisible ones (mental, emotional, and why not psychiatric too?). Often I cannot even see the horizon, but I have learned to understand the winds, the symbols… and I choose to trust. I never ask the sea to calm down. I ask for wisdom and strength to navigate it. (per aspera ad astra)

There’s nothing more powerful about standing in a place where Roman soldiers, traders, philosophers, and ordinary people lived more than 2.000 years ago. In my heart, I feel the presence of Marcus Aurelius here. It's like being connected to his world. Nijmegen is the oldest city of the Netherlands. It was part of the Roman empire, in the period he governed and reflected and wrote his Meditations.💛 #marcusaurelius
