This work is about safety, dignity, and survival.

Our Co-Director recently reintroduced the mission of Crème de la Crème House of Fame Foundation (CDLC) ; why we exist and where we’re headed.

CDLC exists to protect trans persons, prioritize mental health and psychosocial support, drive advocacy and policy change, and empower our community through education. Our next phase is rooted in partnerships and sustainable funding.

From protection and care to advocacy and empowerment, our commitment remains clear: trans lives must be protected and supported.

📌What’s next? Collaboration.
We’re calling on partners, donors, and allies to help us scale this work.

Drop a comment or send us a DM — let’s build lasting impact together.

INTERSEX AWARENESS DAY | OCTOBER 26

The world must learn that human bodies are naturally diverse, and not every body fits society’s narrow definitions of male or female.

Intersex people are not mistakes to be corrected, secrets to be hidden, or bodies to be ashamed of. They are human beings deserving of dignity, autonomy, healthcare, protection, and the freedom to define their own experiences.

“Human bodies are not society’s mistakes to fix. Intersex people don’t need to be corrected to deserve respect. It is society’s mindset that needs to change!”

Let us all move beyond awareness to acceptance, beyond tolerance to justice, and beyond empty words to meaningful action.

Intersex rights are human rights. Every body deserves dignity. Every person deserves to belong. 🧡💛💜

NO ONE SHOULD HAVE TO RISK THEIR SAFETY TO PROVE THEY BELONG.

Coming out should be a choice, never a condition for acceptance.

For many LGBTQ+ people, coming out is not simply about being open. It can mean navigating fear, rejection, discrimination, or uncertainty about whether they will still be loved.

Everyone deserves the freedom to share their truth in their own time, on their own terms, and in their own way.

Belonging should never come at the cost of safety. Acceptance should never come with conditions.

Let’s build a world where people don’t have to choose between being themselves and being safe.

TOWARDS A MORE INCLUSIVE HEALTHCARE SYSTEM IN NIGERIA

What does healthcare for ALL really look like?

It starts with understanding, embraces diversity, and leaves no one behind.

11–17 October 2026

With the recommendation of the Key Population Network, Nigeria, we facilitated sessions on Understanding Human Differences and Diversity and Human Sexuality during the Key Population Integration Training for government healthcare workers in Delta State, alongside facility visits.

While this marks progress, more work is needed to address stigma, discrimination, confidentiality, and the unique healthcare needs of key populations.

The goal is clear: healthcare spaces where everyone is treated with dignity, respect, and fairness, regardless of identity, sexuality, or background.

Because no one should have to choose between their identity and access to healthcare. 🤝

Safe communities are not built by chance. They are built when we challenge discrimination, speak up against injustice, hold people accountable, and make room for everyone to belong. 🏳️‍🌈
Safety is everyone’s responsibility. Inclusion is everyone’s right.

Earlier today, we shared moments from our first community consultation during Charting Inclusive Futures Project. One priority carried through those conversations: care that understands and responds to trans people’s needs.

At our dissemination meeting with @unaidsnigeria, participants highlighted gaps in transgender-specific healthcare. Closing those gaps means working alongside trans and gender-diverse communities to strengthen provider training, ensure respectful treatment and improve referrals.

We invite healthcare providers, community organisations and partners to help turn these priorities into practical change.

Before the findings reached a dissemination meeting, there were round-table conversations like these.

During our first community consultation on Charting Inclusive Futures Project with @unaidsnigeria, participants shared experiences, questioned assumptions and helped identify the health, social and human rights priorities of trans and gender-diverse people in Nigeria.

These conversations helped build the evidence TEPI later shared with UNAIDS Nigeria and other stakeholders—bringing community perspectives into discussions about care, safety and opportunity.

Thank you to everyone who contributed their time and knowledge. We’re continuing to share what emerged and the changes we’re asking partners to help advance.

Look out for our evidence card today. 💙

NATIONAL COMING OUT DAY 🏳️‍🌈

Behind every closet door is a story the world may never hear. Some people remain hidden not because they are ashamed of who they are, but because the world has not always been safe enough for them to live openly.

Coming out is personal. It is a journey that should never be forced, rushed, or measured by courage alone. Everyone deserves the freedom to define their own journey, on their own terms, and in their own time. Until safety becomes a reality for all, let us create a world where no one has to choose between being themselves and being safe.

You deserve to be seen, heard, and loved, whether you are out or still behind the closet door.

Visibility matters. But being seen is not enough when people are still exposed to violence, discrimination, exclusion, and fear.

For trans and non-binary people, real inclusion must come with protection, access to justice, safe healthcare, dignity, and the freedom to live without fear. Visibility should lead to safety — not greater vulnerability.

Everyone deserves to seek healthcare without fear, earn a living without discrimination, and move through life with dignity.

On September 30, TEPI had the privilege of joining our partners at Crème de la Crème Foundation for a visit to the National Human Rights Commission headquarters in Abuja. Our conversations focused on the everyday realities of trans and gender diverse people in Nigeria, including barriers to healthcare, identity recognition, safety, and livelihoods.

Behind each issue are people whose lives, hopes, and futures matter. The discussion reinforced the need for communities to understand their rights and know where to seek support. We welcomed the Commission’s emphasis on early reporting of violations and its reaffirmation of its mandate to provide support without discrimination.

We are grateful to the @nhrcnigeria for hosting us and to the advocates @cdlcf working alongside us. At TEPI, we remain committed to advancing the movement by amplifying community voices, strengthening partnerships, and advocating for protections that people can feel in their everyday lives.

Our communities deserve to be heard, protected, and able to thrive. That is the future we will keep working towards. 💙

We appreciate the National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) Headquarters, Nigeria, for hosting us in Abuja on September 30, 2026.

We discussed the real policy gaps affecting Trans and Gender Diverse persons, healthcare access, harmful practices, identity barriers, safety, and livelihoods.

Key takeaway: rights awareness is low, and that weakens protection. The Commission stressed early reporting of violations and reaffirmed its mandate to provide non discriminatory support nationwide.

If citizens don’t understand their rights, policies fail in practice.

So, what kind of Nigeria are we building? one where rights exist on paper, or one where they are known, accessible, and enforced?

Progress depends on coordinated actions between communities, CSOs, government, and global partners.
