Suppose for a moment you realized your reality wasn’t what you thought it was. Familiar places and faces suddenly feel foreign. Your known existence feels like it’s collapsing - or life has simply forced you to reevaluate everything at once.

Life may not be a dream, not to your mortal vessel anyway...this experience is your current reality and it is within your grasp to author what comes next into a waking dream, or a living nightmare.

Experience is tinted by the lens through which you choose to see the world - not through ignorance or delusion, but through authentic presence and intention.

Choose to see challenge and struggle as the weight room for your soul: opportunities to become broader, deeper, more malleable, compassionate, and wise—while maintaining boundaries that are honest and respectful. Live the waking dream of your own making. Intention helps pave the road ahead.

I’ve come to learn many things in my path this last year, many hard lessons. As some of you know, it’s been quite a life shift, and it’s been less than smooth, and despite recent developments hasn’t gotten easier. In some ways it’s gotten more difficult - and on to the lessons.

Life is short, if you’re unhappy with your circumstances then it’s within you to take control of your life and make the necessary changes. You cannot control others - ever - all you can control is your reaction to others. Be good to each other. Always!

Life is an experience, choose to frame it in a positive light. It’s so easy to fall into victim-frame narratives, or negative experience framing. I’ve chosen a path of calm, compassionate, positive living that comes from a grounded place of peace. Two people could share the same experience and one be miserable, the other ecstatic…framing is a powerful place to shift your experience on a daily basis. Not delusional framing, life is hard and we all stumble, but positive framing plays a big part in your daily experience. You’re not always right, and that’s ok, but if you’re always compassionate, discerning, and open your experiences start to shift!

Love is the answer. Honestly! Love yourself. Loving yourself is the baseline to open your eyes, heart and mind. It’s easy to lash out at others from a place of hurt that plants seeds of negativity and sorrow. I’ve learned that truly loving yourself is the baseline of existence.

I believe ego is the source of almost all negativity in the world. Ego should be the barometer or compass in your world, not the driving force. Ego can quickly become the moat and fortress walls that close your world from which you wage wars until the drawbridge to your heart is closed with bricks to shelter the ego, instead of opening your heart and soul to collaborative and expansive engagements that open your world to the multitude of pathways and possibilities.

Lastly (for now) is the capacity to carry two truths at one time. You can believe something so fully, that it is a core truth. Simultaneously someone else can believe something apart and separate from your truth and that’s ok.

What a beautiful morning to know that I now have the freedom to go on about my life and live according to my peace and pleasure. A big exhale!!!! Ironic that I snagged that lil bird in my frame as I caught it out of the corner of my eye before lining up my phone for the snap - because that’s how I now feel…free to soar…and just be.

Ever feel like you want to be a fly on the wall? How about a lizard on the screen? Kinda feels like my life right now, hanging on in the wind like a reed, waiting for the scales of justice to balance and reveal their decision so I can walk clean into the new life I’ve quietly been moving towards while I’ve been caught in limbo. It’s been a lengthy journey and scarcity has taught me patience, resilience, discernment, compassion, and self-reliance…be nimble, be flexible, and most of all be considerate.

We’re all on this planet to make a life for ourselves, let this be a reminder that you don’t have to step on others’ necks in order to get ahead. I let go of the rope. I have to trust in myself, and trust in the universe that I’m enough - and you are too - there’s room to share space and be compassionate with one another without resorting to malevolence.

Be good to one another, and most of all be good to yourself. Hate begets hate, love begets love. Happy Saturday. Love you all!

Decided to make an exit to the Coconino Forest and camp out at the free sites at the Mogollon Rim in hopes of escaping Armageddon with the sound sensitive Beezer for the long weekend. The solitude makes you the pause. In the silence with yourself thoughts.

It makes you take stock of what’s really important in life, and I’ll give you a hint…it’s not tangible or frivolous. Once your basic needs are met - food, water, shelter - you seek more. When you see the bigger picture of existence you realize it isn’t a newer car, a LV bag, or luxury toys. We are one and interconnected. Treat each other with care and compassion, and happy Canada, and Independence Day!

The universe shows you its beauty all the time. Literally all the time, it’s our mind that gets in the way with our “first world problems”.

Yes - life is tough.
Yes - we struggle internally every day.
Yes - there’s an easier path.

The trick is to start noticing the good things and you see that you have so much to be thankful for. I’m burdened with one of the hardest periods of my life - but I choose to walk with my head up knowing it’s temporary, and I still need to learn something from the experience. What am I learning? Couldn’t tell you - but I’m learning.

Light and shadow play around the neighborhood. The desert is always such a contrast with its hardness and delicate, hot and cool, dry and lush, but in it all is the cycle of life centered around water. No life on earth exists without water. Matter grows us, but water lubricates the nervous system, hydrates the organs, moistens the plants we eat, cleanses the air, is purified thru the earth, evaporates and falls back to the earth.

Again and again and again.

Like us. We are born, grow, expand, procreate, evolve, die, and depending on your beliefs do it again and again and again.

Any way you look at it, water is life and life is water. It’s in us, all living things, on the earth, in the air, the clouds.

What a beautiful morning. Life can be challenging, trying, and confounding until you realize every situation is here to teach you a lesson and evolve you. And I’m evolving like a mother effer!! lol.

Gordo and the boys said it best “This is no dress rehearsal, this is our life”…live it like you mean it because it’s your one go!! Treat those the way you want to be treated, speak with kindness and compassion - even those who seem to come from a place malice or control.

You can’t make this stuff up! Bee is my dogs name (Beezer), and on our morning walk, we stumbled across this beautiful little cactus with a giant blooming flower on it! I was trying to pull her away so I could take a picture, but she really wanted to smell it.

There was barely a whisper of wind, but I saw the stamen shaking so I started recording and a bee flew out seconds after Beezer stepped back!

I woke at a ridiculous hour to catch the eclipse this morning, and it did not disappoint. The contemplating time is short while calculating ISO, F stop, exposure time, estimating blur due to the earth rotation and the moon’s orbit, reducing digital noise to maintain detail and sharpness is small, but stopping to enjoy the wonder of nature and how the Earth perfectly blocks out the sun for roughly 70 minutes, an inversely the moon perfectly blocks out the sun during a solar eclipse is a marvel of nature… Or is it? It seems like divine math to me.

Anyway, to commune with nature is such a wonderful opportunity that that’s so few people take as a daily practice. It makes me realize that to truly love and be truthful to yourself is an equally important daily practice. Love can’t exist without truth, truth opens the door to security, and love without security isn’t true. When you’re true to yourself, you can drop the mask, remove the shield, and find your path to true love.

A divided self tries to control, manipulate, and cling to false narratives and false selves… and the natural flow of love is impossible. Nature is the definition of flow. The wind, the rain, the river, the seasons, orbits, sun and moon.

Harmony.

Truth.

Love.

You don’t need to be accepted, you need to accept yourself and love will follow. First from within, then you realize that we are one people. That’s when true love flows.

A tale of two sides of the poking plant…there’s strength within beauty and beauty within strength…but also vulnerability. We’re all fallible.

Flexibility, care, and compassion open doors for others - and to others - should the vulnerability be exposed, your tribe can surround and walk with you at times of need!
