You’ve Probably Seen Me Play Guitar At Least Once. #603 ⛷️

POSTS STORIES REELS

Dare I say this place is done? There’s still much to do in other departments, but Porcelain Sound is ready to go.

It has been a pretty challenging 2026. I’ve spent many hours in this room working on it but also working on “work” even more.

Doing what I do in a room that is slowly becoming a vision and a dream can create a lot of emotional ups and downs. And it did.

Multiple times I found myself second guessing the choices in a mix while also second guessing this career jump all together.

I’m grateful for my rad wife who pushed me to do this in the first place, but who also kept me from getting discouraged and overwhelmed. Thank you @chelseydhair

I went into this build with this outcome in mind. Basically. The iso booth made a lot of turns as it took shape, and to look at it, and to have already tracked vocals in it now…I couldn’t be happier. ( 🤫 and it’s very cozy with comfortable climate control 😉 )

I spent a lot of time building treatments and diffusion to get this room sounding awesome. Never have I had the space or wherewithal to go this far into acoustically treating a space. Glad I did it sounds wonderful.

I also built all the rack cases. Grateful for the years I spent building and painting things in my life.

Anyway, more info to come. Not that instagram even matters anymore…also here’s a rad picture of me on my 42nd birthday last month after a video shoot for something I’ll talk about later.

Thank you all. If I’ve been seemingly drained, strained, and unreachable…this is why.

Reflecting on this. @brotherskeeperarchive

Looking back, it was about a year ago that we confirmed working together to re-record these songs. After multiple conversations with Mike Ski about this project, the origin of the idea, and their goals, I very much wanted to be a part of it. Thank you guys for trusting me to take this on.

This was a wild time. The myriad locales of this record’s production and post-production made it challenging. There was also a personal goal of mine: how do I make this sound modern but not modern at all. Uhh What? 🤔

I wanted to keep the production raw. I was hopeful that it would stand up to today’s general production standards, but also feel like we just went back to the late 1900s (we can say that now right?) and recorded the songs when they were written. So modern but not modern at all. Riiiight
I wasn’t sure exactly how to go about that, but I knew what I DIDN’T want to do which was a strong start.

Once we got into guitar and vocal tracking, I had signed the lease on what was to become @porcelainsound
In fact I digitally signed the lease sitting on Mike Ski’s toilet during a break 😂

The mix / master was done in a construction zone, save for a few songs that I mixed at my kitchen table with headphones ( not recommended ) so there was a fair amount of chasing my tail: new room, minimal acoustic treatments at first, and a lot of second guessing.

As I sit ready to officially open Porcelain sound ( which looks and sounds nothing like the photos above now ) I feel elated that so many love and praise the production of these songs. I’m so glad we got the result that we did. I think I stayed true to my initial goal, and to see the warm welcome back of Brothers Keeper is such a beautiful thing.

Thanks everyone.

So much to be grateful for and proud of. This past weekend, so much was happening all at once in different places in the hardcore universe, it was hard not to smile.

Much love and many thanks to Uzi @uzi_one and the Aggressive Dogs for asking me to jam with them again for these fantastic shows. It’s always a pleasure reconnecting and sharing the stage with the gentleman in Agnostic Front @agnosticfrontnyc , but to also get to send off the almighty SLAPSHOT @slapshotboston in Boston just sweetened the deal immensely.

To see Uzi after all these years, to know he’s finally cancer free AND still performing at 125%, warms my heart. Hopefully it’s much less than 7.5 years before we meet again this time around brother.

Big congrats to @brotherskeeperarchive on both of their huge sold out reunion shows in Erie with a lot of great bands and friends. We were all here on the east coast watching the footage talking about how rad it looked! Thanks for the special delivery of records! Beyond grateful to have been a part of this and to stand with this pressing in the same spot I mixed it by halogen drop lamp when the @porcelainsound was still a construction zone and a dream.

Also, it wasn’t until a week or so ago that I realized that @burlingtonrecordpressing pressed the album. As long story short as possible, the owner of Burlington Record Plant is a rad drummer who played in, not only hardcore bands, but a sick alt country band called Waylon Speed years back as well. They used to play the coastal NH area often back when we lived there, and we’d put them up when we could. One time when the band stayed at my house, Justin got the idea for Burlington Record Plant while pursuing my record collection in my basement bar at my old house. Fast forward a decade or so later, he presses the first album I’ve ever produced that made it to vinyl! What a wild full circle moment man, still geeking. So happy for Justin and the success the plant has had!

The weather has finally settled into a proper autumn here in NYC. Time to shift, focus on wrapping up some projects and hanging with an almost 2 year old. Be well everyone, if you’ve made it this far…which I assuming you did not ❤️ by @cdrapeaudio

So stoked to see some classic cats this weekend and play some music with my old friends from Japan 🇯🇵🔥🎸 by @cdrapeaudio

Coming out of retirement yall! Just for this month though. Between countless ongoing projects and finalizing @porcelainsound , I’ve been learning (and relearning) a lot of material. Here’s some gigs I’m playing this month! 🎸

10/3 — w/ @towernyc at @saintvitusbar with the Garden States finest @overkillofficial

10/17 — w/ @aggressivedogs_uzione_official at @bignightlive for the final @slapshotboston show along with @agnosticfrontnyc @wisdominchains and more

10/18 w/ @aggressivedogs_uzione_official at @alchemy_providence with @agnosticfrontnyc @boldhardcore @combustnyhc and more.

Beyond stoked to be playing with Tower. These songs are so fun and already being friends with these cats makes it all the more enjoyable. Super stoked to open for Overkill! The last time I played a gig along side these legends was almost 19 years ago to the day ( 10/4/2007 ) in CT.

Also can’t wait to jump back up on stage with my Japanese brothers in Aggressive Dogs. I haven’t seen or played with these guys since TIHC 2019!! Super excited to play both of these shows with some true hardcore royalty.

Be well yall. by @cdrapeaudio

The Lot tracked some really special songs at the legendary Power Station here in NYC recently and they asked me to mix and master it all earlier this summer.

Please give these dudes a follow and go crank “Up N Down” wherever you crank music!
