Here's Lance from Fish The Drift NZ with a solid trout caught on the CD fly rod - His trip started off with 150kmph wind gusts followed by rain and snow while targeting these monster trout on fly.
On the last day of the trip the sun came out and the fishing was sensational!

Didn’t see him eat it 🥴

First fish of the season wasn’t a bad one! Must have been hungry because I’m sure that fly was in his mouth for 3+ seconds 😂

It was a tough day. Saw 3 fish, hooked all of them first cast but only landed this tank. Put a solid bend in the @cdrodsnz downunder 5 weight! 💪

Still not sure how Lisa managed to pluck two trout from this snag infested river bank in under 5 minutes! Guess she is a quick learner 👏

Fought this fish like an absolute champ after hooking it on the @dirtyflys blue beaded pheasant (blue b*stard)🤫

Best coloured trout I have ever caught 🤯

What an insane take. Landed the flies slightly to the side of the fish and got to watch him chase them downstream 😬

Absolutely pristine days made spotting trout easy even in the brown tinted water!

The trout spent more time in the air than in water 😂

Hard to beat catching these chrome rainbows. Always put up one heck of a fight no matter the size! Couldn’t get the cheeky fella to the net so ended up beaching it 😬

Throwback to a time out with @leos_flicks slaying some solid fish. Few action shots at the end of the rainbow now wanting a photo 😅

I was fortunate to get the call up recently to hop onboard Mile Zero with Wayne, Nic and Bradley for a hard and fast 23hour weather window Bluefin trip. I had never caught a Tuna on a jig before and was keen to tick that box. After steaming through the night 70nm northeast of Whitianga and arriving at 4am we started to mark small schools of tuna on the sounder 50-70m below the boat in 2200m! We pretty much had immediate success and proceeded to catch 4 nice Bluefin tuna between 30-50kg on the jigs and when daylight greeted us caught another 4 Bluefin on lures.

First fish on the fly 🤯

After about 10 fly changes we finally found what the trout wanted and boy did @fishinforlisa show us how it’s done! Catching 3 solid rainbows and losing a couple in one morning 🔥

Big thanks to @cdrodsnz @okuma_nz @pelagicgear and the crew! I had such a great time getting to know you all. Such quality people and hopefully meet you all again soon 🙌
