Best morning I’ve ever had in the turkey woods. They were absolutely on fire this morning! Mornings like this make all the tough days out there worth it. #itsasickness taken in Jackson County by @cdwest24

Absolute banger of a morning. Most birds I’ve seen in north Alabama in a very long time. #pile #feethanginwebangin taken in Jackson County by @cdwest24

Sometimes it’s better to be lucky than good. Just rolled back in to Alabama. Went to go check the cows before an evening sit and was a little behind schedule. Came rolling back into the house to change and this fella came out in the corner of the hayfield. 2-2 on ruts so far this year! taken in Jackson County by @cdwest24

There’s history here. I encountered this old warrior this past Saturday. Had a small opportunity for a shot, which I shouldn’t have taken, but did. Ended up hitting him high and he survived. Any real hunter will tell you that the absolute worst feeling is knowing you injure an animal. He began to show back up on camera the next evening and was acting normal. I knew i had to close the chapter with him. I drove down today and was able to get him chasing does. I’m so thankful for the opportunity and the blessing to be able to chase these magnificent creatures in God’s creation. taken in Vidette, Georgia by @cdwest24

“But when tomorrow starts without me, please try to understand, that an angel came and called my name and took me by the hand.” Timber has been by my side for the last decade and was the best dog. Unfortunately, the price of a good dog is heartbreak in the end. I take comfort in knowing that he is pain and cancer free, and is running with Bear in the clouds. Go rest high on that mountain, Til we meet again bubba. by @cdwest24
