I was unbelievably happy, at peace, and just felt so fulfilled these past 3 weeks. I’m so grateful for my health, grateful I didn’t die doing some of the dumb shit I did, and thankful for all the friends I made along the way who became part of the journey.

It’ll take some time to process the last 5,000 miles, but I do know one thing:

I need to go outside more often. by @ce.shaun

while trying to learn this movement I noticed a big deficiency in my ability to protract. powerlifting for years built up habits and patterns, and the gap between my ability to protract and retract grew. I thought this would be a good side quest and I may be wrong but my intuition is that this will have some net positive to my bench and general strength performance. If you know how to planche, I could use some pointers 😭 by @ce.shaun

Camp Muir via Skyline is a strenuous hike that typically takes 8-9 working hours to complete. Named after John Muir, the hike is really an expedition that takes you just over 10,000ft in elevation crossing different terrains like glacier rocks and patches of snow. I was sweating puddles at the start and naively thought shorts were all I needed. The final ~500ft took us above the clouds and smoke from the summer fires. Once the sun disappeared, the temperature dropped significantly and the bright stars illuminated the night. All I could think about was keeping myself moving to stay warm. I also experienced glissading in shorts at midnight which was super fun!
10/10 would do again!!! (Summit next time?!?)
