This car absolutely went through it this year.

I started off this year, hoping to GTE swap it by SSC so I sold my S13 coupe. I was ready to buy a 1J and was told that I have to graduate college first to do that. So I decided to dump all the money from that car into my IS300.

The day that I had finished refreshing the car I took it out to take pictures of it, and on my way home my clutch slave cylinder failed, 3 days before I was planning to drive to Canada for North Stage. For the next few weeks, I spent nearly everyday @timmy_hiatt house fixing it. I ended up replacing the slave cylinder, clutch, clutch lines, pressure plate, friction plate, and master cylinder. Initially it was only supposed to last a week, but defective parts and other issues set me back a month. I finished it June 6th, one week before SSC, an entirely new clutch system to break in. Rolling into Shawano, I finally finished the clutch break in.

SSC was the most fun that I have ever had driving. Being there with all my friends, not caring about how we place and just having the best time that we can was the most incredible feeling.

Drifting should be fun

Heading back home, I ran over a deer carcass and exploded my bumper again after repairing it at US Air. A couple weeks later, my charging system started to give me issues intermittently.

I put my car away into storage out of frustration and ended the year disappointed in the car, having only really driven it once.

But every time I think of selling it, I take it for a drive and remember how I feel driving my car, listening to music in my car and how I have never felt the feeling that I feel driving any other car. I feel the excitement to give this car what it deserves.

Maybe 2026 is the year for this car.
