Hi everyone, I’m back from hiatus! How have you been? Anything new happening in your life?   Whenever I take a break, it’s like God puts it on my mind because life will get crazy. He knows I’ll need time off. Well, that happened again. To summarize, I’m going through some life upheavals. I also took a vacation and was sick the entire time...but it was still nice! 🤷🏻‍♀️   Due to said life upheavals, I’ll be posting updates just once a month. I can’t handle more than this, and I need the extra time to finish Aftermath. It was challenging to write, but it’s easier the closer I get to the end. The villain gave someone in my writing group Dolores Umbridge vibes, so he’s nasty!   I’m enjoying the character arcs. Pirateer’s is especially powerful, and we see more of Derek, Shelly, Izzy, and the newest misfit of the team, Cody. Did I mention there’s a new character who may blow your mind? Aftermath reveals a lot about my galaxy, so that’s been fun. 🌌   In other news, I’m happy to share about a book release if you give me a week’s notice. I will also share something if I see it and have time. I want to continue supporting you! Feel free to reach out if you’ve got a book or project releasing and want me to promote it.   My friends M.H. and Kayla are releasing books this fall! Kayla’s novel Faith of the Phoenix comes out next month and M.H.’s newest, Lavanna’s Journey, in November. 📚 I’m on the launch team for the former and the developmental editor for the latter. Both are excellent Christian fantasy books with disability rep.   Baby Starganaut is finally doing great, btw. She’s taking naps now and health issues are resolved. PTL! Hi everyone, This post is difficult but necessary. I’ll be giving you a story update, then taking an unplanned hiatus. Reason why is at the end. 👇 Starganauts: Aftermath is my WIP. It’s Book 5 of the Starganauts series and the sequel to Invasion. I will be candid. I’ve struggled with Aftermath more than any other book. It’s taken 7 drafts to get the plot working. My usual number of drafts for a story is two! The characters haven’t cooperated except for Pirateer, who has an amazing arc! It’s also difficult making time to write, as a new mom. 👶🏻 However, God is giving me direction and ideas and the story took off! I’m (# of words) in and writing is going very smoothly. I figured out Derek and Shelly’s arcs and there is a big twist with one character. Shh! 🤫 With that, I’ll largely be off Instagram for the next few months. Why? Baby is not doing better. She improved around the time of my last post and then she’s been fussy/not napping since. No idea why. 🤷🏻‍♀️ The bottom line is she again needs near-constant care. Life is too hard to find the time to make posts. I’m a wife, mom, and the provider for our single income family. That comes first. I also plan to finish Aftermath. So for now, I’ll miss you guys. Impromptu Post: Hope after Hardship. 💡   Hi everyone! Shorter post today. I have some good news and a quick life update. I plan to post an update on my stories in a week or so.   I titled this Hope after Hardship because for the last 4 months, life has been insane. Having a new baby is demanding, but my baby was higher maintenance than most. With my husband’s chronic illness limiting him, I’ve struggled to get important adulting tasks done, let alone social media posts. 🛜   You see, Baby Starganaut developed a problem around 3 weeks old. It made life rough, for her and us. She needed to be walked, entertained, or moved almost constantly. If she wasn’t, she’d fuss herself into hysteria. Feeding times were sometimes smooth, sometimes awful, but always long.   Every day, I tumbled into bed beyond exhausted despite her sleeping through the night. 🥱 That’s because during the day, she napped maybe 2-3 times for about an hour max. Most naps were shorter. By bedtime, she’d be in hysterics because she was exhausted, but nothing except holding her while she screamed got her to nap. When she developed painful reflux at 2 months, life just got harder.   We went to multiple physicians and appointments. It was a mystery because she was otherwise healthy and gaining weight. 🤔 Finally, the end of last month, we found out what was causing everything. Baby Starganaut had a severe tongue tie!   We got it fixed via surgery a few weeks ago. Recovery has been rough. We have to give Baby painful mouth stretches daily to keep the tie from re-forming. But, she eats better, reflux is gone, and she eats SO much faster! We’re still working on naps, but life has improved overall. PTL! 🙌   Now, we’re simply facing her first tooth coming in. But, I feel like we have experience dealing with mouth pain and comforting her. Whatever comes, we have hope after 4 months of hardship. 😇   Wbu? Has God recently gotten you through something hard? Motherhood: the craziest, best thing I’m doing.   Hi everyone! I managed to have the time to make a post. 😆 Welcome to my life as a new mom. Having a baby is demanding, but I wanted to write an authentic post about #motherhood. I feel like there aren’t many realistic posts it. They’re either super negative or saccharine sweet. So, I’m sharing my own.   Motherhood is brutally hard work. I expected it to be rough. It blew even my expectations. 🤯 No other “occupation” is so demanding. You’re truly on-call 24/7 meeting a tiny human’s needs. My experience is more difficult because 1) my husband’s illness means he’s running at 10% - 20% energy capacity, always, 2) I work, 3) Baby Starganaut is high energy and wants to be walked and entertained constantly.   It’s not enough to put her in the carrier and stand still. You must walk, or face Baby’s wrath! 😉 She’s had mouth ties and reflux issues, so that’s been rough and made her fussier than most infants. (We’re currently treating these issues)   However, motherhood is also the most amazing ever. That same tiny human will melt your heart into a puddle. 🫠 You’ll fall in love with your baby’s cute little features and babbling voice. It’s incredible to raise a new human that resembles you, and be able to love and hold them. There’s nothing sweeter or more profound.   That leads into my last point. Motherhood is the best thing I’ve ever done. 💜 Being a mom really is holy work. It’s crucially important, pleases God (when done right), and is the best way to impart faith to the next generation.   Something I do with Baby Starganaut is read her a Bible verse every day. Do I forget sometimes? Sure! But I want to start the habit of reading Scripture to her. My husband and I also pray with her, holding her tiny hand. She doesn’t understand it now, but it’s another early habit for when she *is* old enough. 🙏   How about you? If you’re a parent, what’s your experience like? Or if you don’t have kids, what’s the most valuable thing you’re doing?   Before I conclude, I want to acknowledge that not everyone here is a parent. INTRO POST. 👋 Hi everyone! I’m doing an intro today because it’s been a while, there are new faces, and I just returned from maternity leave. My name is C.E. Stone. I’m a sinner saved by Jesus and the wife of a disabled man who has fibromyalgia and chronic fatigue. I work as a professional tutor and am the author of the Starganauts series:  Christian science fantasy novels about ordinary people who transform into superhuman warriors. 🦸‍♂️ God enables me to publish and I have 4 books out currently. I’m working on my 5th, titled Starganauts: Aftermath. #WIP   Some fun facts about me: my books were influenced by #StarWars , Star Trek, Starcraft, and LotR. But...I began writing at age 10 after the Redwall series inspired me. My favorite color is purple and I love anything with chocolate in it.   I became a mom last December to Baby Starganaut, as I dub her. Being a mom is the toughest and most wonderful thing every. Baby is full of smiles, laughs, and is trying to crawl and talk already...at 3 months old! She even has teeth beneath her gums. 😬   While Baby is advanced, she’s had a lot of issues that have made it very rough for her...and us. We finally figured out what’s causing them and scheduled treatment, PTL! But it was affecting feedings, napping, and causing her to fuss. I haven’t been on here much due to this, and prioritizing.   My priorities are God, family, and work. Social media is below those. I do make a point to reply to every message sent to me. Just know it may take longer than usual! I post here every 2 weeks and I have an e-newsletter that goes out quarterly with author/life news and Christian/clean book recs. 📚 #christianauthor   My Starganauts series consists of a 1st and 2nd generation of heroes, chosen by God to defend the neighboring Gorvan Galaxy. It features planets inhabited by aliens and humans, and you can read about the adventures of the 1st Generation in Starganauts, Retribution, and Defector.
