Rare example of me talking on camera! (I’ve actually been putting off doing a proper video about what I do for a while, I’ll probably do that this month)

I’ve now just about recovered from going to most of @hindsband shows on the final leg of their tour and wow, what a privilege, and what a tour it’s been.

I’m now regularly sketching gigs in London and elsewhere, and getting actual bookings to do it, which is amazing, but honestly without the generosity of Ana & Carlotta who had no idea who I was the first time I got in touch with them, there’s no way I’d be doing what I’m doing now with illustration.

Wasn’t gonna post this as I assumed I’d be mumbling and stuttering my way through it but actually it’s a pretty good snapshot of what I do. Maybe Ana should also host a chat show?

Ironically, “who are you and what are you doing here?” was the reaction that my anxious brain feared the first time I rocked up in Valencia last year :D by @cebillustration

Massive thanks to @swimdeepbaby for having me at their second night at @mothclub tonight, an epic set, and so many songs that evoke amazing times. A pleasure to try to capture some of it tonight. I’ve been very spoiled with gigs this week, truly memorable. Support tonight from @shesinparties__ who I’ve seen lots and are always great, and @_jack_kaye who was on pretty much as doors opened but smashed it and I will deffo see him and his band again. by @cebillustration

SO GLAD i made the last minute decision to try to get a ticket and head over to Hitchin for the last UK date of @maryinthejunkyrd’s UK tour, supported by the EXCELLENT @victorandalbert at @club_85_hitchin - one of the best atmospheres at a gig all year, and I love this album so much.
Has been a rough couple of weeks for one reason or another and this was very very good for the soul.
I also got THE best video of This Is My California but I’ll post that tomorrow.
I suspect that’ll be the last time I see them this year, but what a pleasure it has been seeing them get the success they deserve. by @cebillustration

Bloody amazing gig last night, nice to bump into so many gig regulars as Mary In The Junkyard played possibly the best gig I’ve seen this year.
For some reason ended up in a piano bar over the road and had a beer with a couple of Sting fans, then after a pain in the arse journey back to Walthamstow randomly met Beth and @olibayston who I recognised from the gig, and who turned out to have produced Role Model Hermit. (Only just now realised that that makes perfect sense with something I read earlier about MITJ being regulars at wood street bakery during the making of the album) by @cebillustration

Fantastic gig last night, live sketching @thelegofrosa and @nadia.kadek at @lowerthirdsoho Thanks loads to @staygoldenpr and Rosa for having me along. Even managed to fit in two VERY quick sketches while @jennyonholiday_ joined onstage for a song, though Im not sure I captured the likeness fully with my literal fiver second scribble :D
Always good to see @veri_herga at gigs, his photography is amazing, and nice to meet Rachel from @transgressivehq again by @cebillustration

I was incredibly lucky to manage to get a ticket to @phoebebridgers album launch show at @unionchapeluk a couple of weeks ago. I took my sketchbook along, unsure whether it’d be allowed in, luckily, all was fine and I sketched her beautifully done stage set up and roughed in Phoebe and her collaborators to sketch later. The lighting was incredible and I wanted to try to capture something of it, I hope I managed.
I’m going to make some prints of this image, if you’d like one please message me or comment.
