Happy Caturday! I made it through week two of road construction (Ash is doing my primal scream for me). The drive has gotten worse, but thankfully no more than an extra half hour for my commute so far- frustrating but doable. Three more weeks to go! I’m listening to a lot of audio books and am focusing on things that make me happy like the Book Loft soap my sister gave me and the cute little hitchhiker I found on my car (I did relocate the praying mantis before driving). Hope your weekend is full of joy!

Writing Update: I edited some scenes for a few friends. With my added commute time that’s all I had time for, but I’m hoping to get some actual writing in this weekend (or I might finally send out a query letter for my MG Fantasy that’s been done for awhile). Anyone else struggle with taking that next step? What helped?

Happy Sunday! Definitely a day to relax with a cup of coffee and a couple of cats. Tomorrow starts a 5 week freeway closure on my already long commute (we’ve been warned it might take 2-3 times longer to get places and my drive to work is already almost an hour). If I’m not on as much, that is the reason. Fingers crossed it turns out not to be as bad as everyone is predicting! If you have any audio book recommendations, please list them below as I have a feeling I’ll have a lot more time for listening to books…

Happy Caturday! Ash snuck out the other day and we had to run and grab him (photo of him in the backyard). Thankfully, no skunks were around! We haven’t seen any skunks for almost two weeks so they might have relocated on their own. Fingers crossed!

Last weekend I also took a video of a strange sound coming from the tree. Someone told me it was a squirrel. Is that what this sound is? Anyone know? Hope you’re all enjoying the long weekend!

Writing Update: I only got two days of writing in this week, but my husband was out of town for work so I wasn’t expecting to be able to write much. Instead, I’m hoping to spend a good chunk of time this weekend working on my middle grade horror rewrite. What are you up to this weekend?

It was so much more incredible in person, but this was the best my camera could pick up from the lunar eclipse the other night (the video zooms in). So glad a friend texted and reminded me to go outside and see it! My son was not as impressed, but he’s nearly a teen so at least he decided to check it out with me.

Writing Update: Not a lot of progress this week, but I did write for three nights. Since it’s the first week of school, I’ll consider that a win! How was your week?

It’s the first week of school! I’m handing out schedules to students all day today, and then the kids start tomorrow. Let’s all dive in, and have a wonderful week!

Writing update: My goal is to fit in fifteen minutes of writing a night- we’ll see how exhausted I am when I get home. Wish me luck!

Also, if anyone knows how to get rid of the reflective image on videos taken through glass please let me know! I spent way too much time trying to figure it out and got nowhere.

Happy Caturday! It’s been a long week- I’m definitely ready for the weekend and lots of kitty cuddles. School starts next week and I’ve been putting in a lot of extra hours to get things ready for students to be back. While I’m excited for school to start back up, I also really want just one more week of summer. Are you looking forward to school starting back up, or do you wish summer was just a little longer too?

Writing update: I only wrote/edited once this week (twice if you count writing ideas in my notes app). Work took over. Hopefully next week goes better!

Happy National Relaxation Day! Definitely a good day to slow down, cuddle a cat, and read a book. My second week back to work went smoothly, but was busy. I am lucky that I get to ease into the school year and we don’t have students yet.

Writing update: I’ve been making slow and steady progress on my MG Horror. I also did some editing for others, and have a writing group this morning. Boo will most likely be sitting on my lap all day. We went out of town for a week and she has been glued to my side ever since. In one of the photos you can see her helping while I worked on my computer. Do your pets get extra clingy after you’ve been gone too?

FYI, the ocean video is from a trip to the coast I took- love watching the waves! Hope your weekend is going well!

I just need some coffee first. It’s my second week back at work after summer break. The early mornings are going to take some getting used to since I’m a night owl and have been staying up way too late. It might be a three cups of coffee kind of day. How many cups of coffee/ tea do you usually drink? Hope your Monday is going well!

Writing Update: I’m going to try to get some writing done after I get home every night. My hope is to do about thirty minutes a night. Wish me luck!

Happy Caturday! I was lucky enough to see these two beautiful tigers when I visited Indiana a few weeks ago. Love the face rub at the end!

This past week was my first week back at work after summer break, and I was also helping my parents move, so I am exhausted. Definitely a great day to embrace my inner cat and relax (although I plan to spend some time writing too). What are you up to this weekend?
