Sadly, my last time to paint these gorgeous fall aspens outdoors for a while, but I’ll certainly continue painting them in my studio. I went out with a bang, because soon after I’d finished my drawing, a very nice man who was passing by asked if he could take my picture and he turned out to be a wonderful photographer! #aspens #pleinairpainter #landscapepainting #rockymountains #falltrees by @cecy_turner

“Autumn in Full Swing,” 10x8 plein air pastel done in my favorite spot, Endo Valley in #rockymountainnationalpark . I did a watercolor underpainting for this one and couldn’t tell much advantage in doing that. In fact, it made the whole painting take longer! But nonetheless, it was still fun to do. #pastel #pleinairpainting #pleinairpainter #aspens by @cecy_turner

There is nothing like painting next to a beautiful river! My block in is done and I’ll probably have to return to finish, but won’t take too long! #rockymountainnationalpark #river #pleinairpainter #oilpainting #coloradopainter by @cecy_turner

I wanted to try a pastel of these clouds, which were reflecting the sunset going on, as they were about to obscure Mt. Meeker. I’m one lucky person, as I took the photo I painted from standing on our deck at our second home in Colorado! What a view, and I pinch myself every day! #rockymountainnationalpark #mountains #rockymountains #frontrange #pastel by @cecy_turner

“Golden Dream,” 10x8 plein air oil painted across from Lily Lake in #rocktmountainnationalpark. I haven’t quite finished painting all the aspens, but I’m working on it. This was an especially fun one because of the shape of the foliage on this one tree. It kind of went everywhere! #aspens #trees #falltrees #pleinairpainting by @cecy_turner

“Violet Enchantment,” my first ever floral painting in pastel. I guess I could have picked an easier floral subject for the first one, but my African violets were blooming so beautifully and I loved the color and just couldn’t help myself. I’ll have to admit, it wasn’t a very easy painting to do, but well worth it! #flowers #pastel #africanviolet #flowerpaintings #flowerpainter by @cecy_turner

Thank you, Mountain Oyster Club for choosing my plein air pastel, “Big Thompson on a Roll,” for the 57th Annual Contemporary Western Art Show. It’s always such an honor to be included in such a great show! #mountainoysterclubartshow #bigthompsonriver #pastel #pleinairpainting #river by @cecy_turner

The aspens are peaking across from Lily Lake and two women wanted a photo of me painting. It’s always embarrassing when I’ve just started a painting and I really don’t want anyone to even see it at that stage, much less take a picture of it! The beginning of a painting to me is like paint having a bad hair day! #aspens #falltrees #badhairdays #rockymountainnationalpark #colorado by @cecy_turner

SOLD the next day after I delivered new paintings to Joy and Wylde Redstone Art Gallery! “Silent Passage,” 16x12, is one of my favorite new oil paintings and I’m glad it found a new home so quickly. #oilpainting #snowscape #winterscene #sunset #coloradolandscapes by @cecy_turner

Deer Mountain hike in #rockymountainnationalpark is a favorite of ours because of the beautiful views, although we’ve never made it to the end! #hiking #longspeak #coloradohiking by @cecy_turner

What a fun watercolor to paint! I had to push the yellow because it hasn’t quite all the way happening yet, and I added some other colors just because I wanted to🙃 Driving through some yellow aspens to get to my destination was enough to inspire me. Too bad they weren’t the aspens I wanted to paint! #aspens #fallcolours #watercolor #pleinair #pleinairartist by @cecy_turner
