🚨 BAND UPDATE 🚨 We're stripping things back to the bones this week, starting with the release of our new single: ⚡ WHENEVER YOU'RE AROUND 🗓️ Out Friday, 25 September Part of an upcoming EP recorded in 2020, it's a stripped-back folk song that unfolds like a conversation — full of old memories, passing observations and the kind of characters that feel as though they've stepped out of a story already in progress. 📰 More news to come... #NewMusic #NewSingle #BrisbaneMusic #BrisbaneBands #IndieRock #Folk #AlternativeRock #AustralianMusic by @cedarsmokemusic

Today John from Cedarsmoke joined me in the 4zzz studios. We got to hear him perform their unreleased track ‘Whenever You’re Around’ live on air. We spoke all about songwriting inspiration, genre influences, and collaboration in a band. Believe it or not their new singles were written and recorded back in covid times when you couldn’t have a whole band in a studio and had to wear a mask. Now these songs are being reborn in 2026! If you missed the show - you can always listen back via the 4zzz website > Programs > From The Roots Here is a fun fact for those who missed it: I asked John - “If you could invent an ice cream flavour, what would it be?” He said Turkish Delight, and I couldn’t agree more!! What would you choose? See you next week! by @cedarsmokemusic
