Wachay,

My name is Bohdana Innes. I am an architect, founder of Cedarweave Collective, and a member of Moose Cree First Nation. I am honoured to officially introduce Cedarweave Collective, an Indigenous-led architecture practice rooted in land, story, and community.

I was born in Moose Factory, raised in Wawa, and now live and work in Timmins, Ontario, within Mushkegowuk Territory. I am honoured to be the first architect from Moose Cree First Nation and to walk alongside the growing community of Indigenous architects across Canada.

My journey in architecture has always been rooted in relationship to land, community, and culture. Through my education and career, I have focused on Indigenous design processes and the connection between people, place, and the built environment. I have been working alongside Indigenous communities across Turtle Island which has shaped my experience in culturally grounded design.

I founded Cedarweave Collective to create a practice grounded in Indigenous ways of knowing and being. A practice that supports communities in shaping spaces that reflect their values, stories, and ways of living. My work is rooted in relationship and guided by the belief that architecture can strengthen identity, support healing, and carry forward our stories for future generations.

It has been an honour to walk alongside Indigenous communities across Turtle Island, and I look forward to continuing this journey by creating spaces that honour our voices, stories, and ways of knowing.
