We are in a space and time where society is so used to seeing a certain type of woman — the “IG baddie” — that we’ve started to lose perception of what real, natural women look like, especially Black women. And truthfully, even the models we see on this app don’t look like that all the time fr.🤷🏾‍♀️

Real women have texture. Real women have rolls, stretch marks, cellulite, scars, different shapes, different complexions and different features. Our bodies aren’t meant to all look the same.🤎✨

These photos feel like real women, real bodies, real friendships, real moments. No one needed to look like an “IG baddie” to be worthy of being photographed or to look beautiful.

Black women & women in general deserve to see ourselves represented in ALL of our forms. 🤎

This is what real life looks like, and I think it’s beautiful.🤩✨🤎

So this is what it feels like when you stop sleeping on yourself☺️✨

Thank you to @rios.imagines for displaying my work at your exhibit.

It felt really good walking in and seeing my work on a wall. I’m doing things different this time, stepping out of my comfort zone, and taking on all challenges even if it makes me uncomfortable. 😩

I’m doing this for myself and for my babies, so they can see they momma out here doing the damn thing and I want to inspire them to follow their dreams, don’t quit, and keep pushing for the stars🤎✨🤩

Photography has always been a passion of mine but I was sleep far too long, but I’m up now. Thank you God for not giving up on me even when I was giving up on myself 📸💪🏾
