📍 Gauteng, that’s a wrap. Day 3 of the Zenzele Youth Entrepreneurship Tour closed with the Absa Financial Inclusion Symposium and the Zenzele Entrepreneurship Skills Initiative (ZESI) Graduation at JBS LG021, University of Johannesburg Business School.

The symposium opened honest conversations about access to finance, what funders look for, how young businesses become investment ready and where the real gaps still are. Thank you to our speakers and panellists for sharing what they know, and to everyone in the room who came with questions.

We also celebrated our ZESI graduates, who completed the programme and walked away with the skills to take their businesses further. Congratulations to every one of you.

Thank you to Absa, CEF and all our partners for making the Gauteng leg possible. Next stop, the Free State.

📍 Gauteng, Day 1 is done.

Yesterday we left the lecture halls and went to the businesses themselves. Site visits across the province, walking into the workshops, kitchens and back rooms where young entrepreneurs are already trading, and hearing first hand what is working and what is standing in the way.

You learn more in an hour on site than in a week of reports. Real order books, real constraints, real plans for the next twelve months.

To every entrepreneur who made time for us yesterday, thank you for letting us into your space.

Today the Youth Entrepreneurship Challenge takes the stage 📍 JBS Auditorium, University of Johannesburg Business School, and tomorrow we close with the Financial Inclusion Symposium and the Zenzele Entrepreneurship Skills Initiative (ZESI) Graduation 📍 JBS LG021.

📍 Gauteng, you pitched.

Day 2 of the Zenzele Youth Entrepreneurship Tour brought the Youth Entrepreneurship Challenge to the JBS Auditorium at the University of Johannesburg Business School, and young entrepreneurs from across the province took the stage to put their businesses in front of the room.

Standing up to pitch is harder than it looks. A few minutes to explain what you have built, why it works and where it is going, in front of judges, partners and a room full of people who came to listen. Everyone who did it yesterday earned their place on that stage.

To every entrepreneur who pitched, thank you for showing us what you are building. You are the reason this tour exists.

SANPC Refinery achieves 99.62% in NKP Security Evaluation

SANPC Refinery has achieved an outstanding 99.62% in its National Key Point (NKP) security evaluation for the 2026/2027 financial year, improving from 98.94% in 2025/2026.

The achievement reflects the continued commitment of our management, Security Department, security service providers, employees and key stakeholders to strengthening security controls, protecting critical infrastructure and maintaining a secure operating environment.

Congratulations to everyone who contributed to this achievement.

Successful SANPC Refinery SMME Supplier
Workshop

The SANPC Refinery SMME Supplier Development Programme and Business Registration Workshop was successfully held today at the SANPC Refinery, bringing together more than 280 SMMEs and enterprises that RSVP’d to participate.

The strong level of interest reflects the importance of providing businesses with information and guidance as the SANPC Refinery redevelopment programme progresses.

The workshop provided businesses with an opportunity to:

• Learn more about potential supplier and contractor opportunities associated with the SANPC Refinery programme.
• Gain practical guidance on business registration, supplier onboarding and compliance requirements.
• Better understand the CEF/SANPC Refinery supply chain and procurement processes.
• Engage directly with SANPC Refinery representatives and other businesses, and prepare for potential opportunities as the programme progresses.
The engagement also provided an opportunity for CEF and SANPC Refinery to listen to the needs, questions and concerns of the SMME and business community.

Given the strong interest received, a further supplier development and business registration workshop will be held in the near future. Details will be communicated through the official CEF and SANPC Refinery channels.
We thank all the SMMEs, entrepreneurs and stakeholders who participated and contributed to today’s engagement.

We look forward to continued engagement as we work together to build a stronger supplier ecosystem around the SANPC Refinery.

All attendees who have RSVP’d for the SANPC Refinery Supplier Workshop on 17 September 2026 are reminded that the SANPC Refinery is a designated National Key Point and is subject to strict security and access-control requirements.

Please take note of the following mandatory requirements:

*Bring a valid ID – Your identity document will be required for verification and site access.
*No weapons – Weapons of any kind are not permitted on the SANPC Refinery premises.
*No alcohol / intoxicated persons – Anyone who has consumed alcohol will not be permitted to enter the site.
*Follow site security procedures – All attendees must comply with security screening and access-control procedures upon arrival.
*Please allow for security checks to avoid delays or being refused access to the site.
