When I started to make music, there were two blogs you wanted to get on. @dancingastro and @edm .

Fast forward ten years later I was able to knock one of those off my list.

Blackout feat. @lillianharkless is featured on @edm’s recent issue of Fresh Picks

What are you overthinking right now?

For a while it was this song, I felt that I couldn’t get things exactly how I wanted. Eventually I had gotten so familiar with the song that it was hard to be as critical. I find myself working on music now and once I’m at a point, I need to take a step back and temporarily abandon the project so when I pick things back up, I can be objective and get the last 1 or 2% finished up.

It’s a cycle to say the least. What are you overthinking right now? Tell me below and I hope you enjoy this track as much as I do.

OVERTHINKING FEAT. J FITZ

What started as some lyrics around the concept of Overthinking, burning out, and chasing a zero sum game turned into a fully fleshed out song with Denmark based vocalist, J Fitz.

Overthinking is about those moments where we over analyze and question creative choices, resulting in a brain overload from chasing perfection.

It’s about those moments, days, or even weeks where we feel that we didn’t make any real progress, eventually reaching a burnout.

Really hope these lyrics resonate with all of you as much as they did for me.

The full version is up on all streaming platforms. Go add it to your workout playlist and let me know how you’re enjoying it 🙏🏼 #drumandbass taken in Tokyo, Japan by @cegor
