I instantly felt like the main character in a gothic novel with this outfit!

The weather went from hot and rainy to actual fall weather and rainy, and I refused to stay inside lol. So I pulled on my new rain boots, put together a dark academia-inspired rainy day outfit, grabbed my umbrella and off I went!

Outfit Elements:
•Black long skirt
•Black mid calf rain boots
•Emerald green satin top with embellishments
•Small crossbody bag (worn on my shoulder)
• floral scarf headband

I’m proud of myself for the umbrella transitions!

Now I just need a new umbrella because my $5 Five Below one is fighting for its LIFE 😂

Vintage Chico’s necklace (flea market find)
Thrifted (Depop) black mid-calf wedge rain boots

My human tripod (aka my husband) and I were a couple drinks in and I forgot to film my outfit — and I really wanted to show off my new rain boots!

Upcycled this deep red velvet tank with hand-sewn beaded lace appliqués to give it a dark romantic twist ✨ Paired it with a vintage paisley maxi skirt, patchwork leather and tapestry bag, and statement silver jewelry.

Giving this thrifted faux-velvet top the whimsical fairy-core makeover it deserved.
What I did in this part:
Hand-sewed the patch from the matching robe
Added detailed glass beadwork to the lace trim & patch

From Racks to Riches Episode 2 Pt 1
Thrift Flip series!
Today we are transforming this faux velvet tank top I thrifted.
I quickly took it in to make sure my waist was snatched!
I then did a quick DIY :
Tutorial:
Cut off the bottom hem of the weird robe thing that came with it (awkward length, and didn’t come with a tie) to use for the straps.
I seam ripped the hem open, measured the length I needed from the straps that already existed (make sure it’s the right length and give yourself at least half an inch of seam allowance when you cut) and cut the red fabric to that length.
Sew it right side (pretty side) together and then find a way to turn them right side out.
Re-attach to the tank top.
Done!

It’s tedious but easy to do!
