Curator Celeste McEvoy shares her advice for emerging and early-career artists 🎨

✨ Find your people.

“Finding peers who share your interests is invaluable. Having someone to see shows with, share a studio with, commiserate with, or collaborate with is a real gift.

Cherish each other! ❤️”

✨ Give yourself room to experiment.

“If you’re just starting out, try not to limit yourself because you feel pressure to produce a ‘coherent body of work’. Experiments can often help you discover new directions and push your practice forward.”

✨ Lean into what you love.

“Resist the urge to hide your genuine passions in an attempt to feel more ‘credible’. If you’re really, truly inspired by Coldplay, that’s great. Personally, I’d love to see a show all about Chris Martin.”
