I am not an easy person to surprise… I overanalyze everything and connect the dots way too easily. But for the first time in my life, I can honestly say I was 100% surprised.

After a week in Hawaii for a photoshoot, the @thehoneyswim team and I were heading out to dinner. The girls wanted to get dressed up and celebrate after such a successful shoot. I didn’t think twice about it. On the way, they handed me a t-shirt and said, “After being with the team for a while, everyone gets a t-shirt.” Confused, I started to read it.

(Quick backstory: on New Year’s Day 2023, I asked Cooray to be my boyfriend by having my mom wear a shirt that said, “Will you be my daughter’s boyfriend?”)

This was that same shirt… but underneath it now said, “Your turn… Couret?” Still, it didn’t fully click. I was just more confused.

Then I walked a little further and saw my sweet man standing there. Time completely stopped as I realized what was about to happen. It didn’t feel real — how was he in Hawaii??! After I hugged him, everything we said was a blur, but that overwhelming feeling of pure love is something I’ll never forget.

And then it happened… the man of my dreams got down on one knee and asked me to be his wife!!! We cried, we hugged, we kissed, and we celebrated the start of forever.

Words could never express how much I love this man and how he’s changed my life for the better. I cannot wait to be Mrs. Cooray and spend forever with my best friend!!!
