POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

Hi everyone. This post has been a long time coming.

On June 17th 2025, my friend Kai passed away. Those in the grishaverse fandom may know her as zemenipearls on tumblr. She was an incredibly kind person who always looked out for others. I can say I have the privilege of being her friend, even only an online one. Kai loved to write, read, play the viola, and talk to her friends. As a teacher, Kai deeply cared for her local community. She had the most lovely smile and a kind heart, fighting for the world to be a better place for the marginalised.

It feels weird speaking about her in the past tense, even more than a year after her passing. Kai was such a joyful presence in the lives of everyone who knew her. She was sweet and funny. I still remember when she called us on discord and showed my friends and I an entire powerpoint on altered photos from instagram and how they affected body image. She spoke with such passion. I can only hope we carry with us her spirit and her love for humanity, and her striving for a better world.

This took a long time, but a few friends and I have been brainstorming a 'Remembering Kai' event. We're looking mainly at art of her OCs, her fanfictions (including the Zemeni Extended Universe (ZEU)) or her favorite canon characters, and posts about memories we have had with her.

In lieu of flowers, her last wishes were for everyone to donate to No Kid Hungry, and as such, we’ll be doing the same. Here is the link: https://www.nokidhungry.org/ .

May she rest in peace. by @celestlian

My 23rd hunger games ocs, Ivy and Ayla Oaklyn! Ivy and Ayla are cousins from district 7. Ivy is reaped for the games and comes second. I headcanon that the 23rd games didn't have formal interviews, so every tribute just wore their reaping clothes up until the games, where they were given a new outfit specifically for the arena.

[ID: two teenage girls. The one on the left has black hair styled into a bun with bangs, dark brown eyes and light brown skin. She wears a short-sleeved teal top with black braces attached to a pair of dark brown trousers. She is facing the viewer with a neutral expression on her face. Beside her is the text 'Ivy Oaklyn'. The girl on the right has wavy chest black hair worn down, dark brown eyes and light brown skin. She wears a collared short-sleeved top underneath a green sleeveless pinafore dress. She is facing the viewer, but glancing to the left at the other girl. Beside her is text 'Ayla Oaklyn'. Above the characters is the text, '23rd hunger games'. End ID.]

[ID: The second image shows the two teenage girls in different outfits. Ivy is wearing her hair down and wears a short-sleeved pink dress with buttons down the front and an open collar. Ayla wears a short-sleeved shirt with a peter pan collar and a purple skirt. Ivy looks determined, but Ayla looks worried. Above them is text that reads 'Reaping'.]

[ID: The third image shows Ivy dressed in a russet brown short-sleeved shirt with buttons and a peter pan collar, and black trousers. She still has her bangs, but this time wears her hair in a ponytail. Her face bears an expression of both worry and determination, and her fingers are curled slightly, as if unsure of what will happen next. The text above her reads: 'Arena'. End ID.] by @celestlian

How do I tell people that my ideal genshin MC is Aether wearing a skirt and playing as the adopted Princess of Khaen'riah

[ID: a picture of a character with tan skin, gold eyes and long blonde hair in a plait wears a black crop top embellished with gold and black skirt underneath a white and gold cape. She also wears black boots. The young woman is sitting on the ground with one arm propping her up as she stares upwards, presumably at the outstretched hand out of frame. The background is dark blue. End ID.]

My OCs Violetta and Orion updated art 😌

[ID: a picture of two 19 year olds. The girl on the left has waist-length wavy black hair, dark brown eyes and light brown skin, and wears a purple short-sleeved anarkli embellished with silver embroidery with a matching dupatta. She is facing the viewer but looking to the right at the boy, who has short wavy black hair, dark brown eyes and light brown skin slightly darker than the girl's. He wears a black long-sleeved jama decorated with gold on the sleeves and collar, as well as gold diamond patterns on the robe itself. They are holding hands. The background is a darker purple. End ID.]

[ID: art of a young woman with black hair, dark brown eyes and light brown skin. She wears a dark blue dress with straps and a matching cape. The cape drapes through her lighter blue arm cuffs. Grishaversing Aika and Zira

[ID: a picture of two teenagers. The girl has medium brown skin and black hair styled into two star-shaped pigtails. She wears a sky blue kaftan with golden straps across the front, and black trousers. One hand is summoning light. In her Zemeni Extended Universe, Kai came up with the idea that Novyi Zem was originally called Nyota Heri, 'little star'. Decided to draw this with her Zemeni creation myth of two sisters, a sun summoner and shadow summoner, making the world.

[ID: a picture of a Black woman with her hair styled in long braids, dark brown eyes and medium brown skin looking up at the sky as she summons a four-pointed diamond. The woman wears a sleeveless gold v-neck blouse and layered gold necklaces over it, as well as matching earrings and a gold circlet that sits on her head. The background is very light yellow. End ID.] by @celestlian

I actually drew Nikolai's face but then I drew it badly so I panicked and left him faceless 🤣

Post Ravkan civil war sun summoner kefta...feat me bc I realised I've only drawn myself once lmao

[ID: art of a young woman with wavy chest-length black hair, dark brown eyes and light brown skin. She wears a purple kaftan embellished with gold buttons and straps across the top, over a pair of black trousers. On the left, she is facing the viewer with a small smile and her hair in a plait, and is summoning light in one hand. On the right, she wears the same outfit but with black leather boots, and is adjusting the cuff of her kaftan sleeve. Her hair is worn down. The background is white. End ID.]

EXPLANATION! Chose purple instead of blue to reference The Severed Moon colour palette and also bc I think it'd be a nice nod to the fact that these sun summoners were made via merzost, instead of born with it like Alina was
