A Love Letter to Hall of Letters:

When I started at the University of Redlands, I didn’t have a major declared. I had an idea of what I wanted to study, but more than anything I just wanted to spend my time learning about things that I found fascinating from fascinating people. At the end of my freshmen year, I walked into the office of a professor I had never met, and 15 minutes later walked out with a 4-year plan for my Spanish major. The next year, I took what ended up being one of my most intensive classes across all four years with only 7 other students. With the support of that professor, I successfully wrote a 22-page paper about the Falkland Islands, and declared my second major in Political Science. My third year, I started taking classes with a professor that taught me more about the world than I could have ever imagined, and I declared my Public Policy minor.

Throughout my four years, I’ve submitted 319 pages to professors in this building. Some written at 2 a.m. that are probably better off forgotten, and a few that I’m really proud of. My Spanish thesis, “Un análisis literario de aspectos religiosos en cuatro autores de la generación del 98” and my Political Science Honors thesis “When Fiction Governs: The significance of accuracy in political media through the case of The West Wing” are works I am abundantly proud of.

Tomorrow I will be walking the stage in front of my friends and family to celebrate these achievements and I could not be more excited, but first I had to acknowledge some of the people, and places, that got me here. Thank you to professors Liesder Mayea, Eric McLaughlin, & Graeme Auton, and thank you Hall of Letters!💐 by @celiatconti

sweet sweet session 1 !!!

one of the many reasons i love camping is because it reveals so much about God’s character in new and unique ways. throughout this session, i got to see the Lord move through times of peace and chaos. i felt Him move in moments of confidence and humility. i saw His spirit open minds and soften hearts as it filled this place. it is truly a gift to be a vessel for His love, because at the end of the day the only other thing we can bring to Heaven, is each other. taken in Woodleaf - A Young Life Camp by @celiatconti

two degrees hotter & a million memories richer!

last week I graduated cum laude from the University of Redlands with a B.A. in Spanish and a B.A. in Political Science with departmental honors, along with a minor in Public Policy.

looking forward, I will be working and teaching in the fall before continuing my studies as a postgraduate student on Semester at Sea next spring!
