Still not over it. And I won’t be ever. I’ve been feeling so aware of this new thing in my body. It feels like it’s coming from my chest, my heart. an old voice, a new choice to make. A new dream to chase. I’m believing in myself in this new way. In my capabilities and my capacity for life and what I can allow myself. Very interesting stuff. Idk life is scary and it feels like I’ll pass if I don’t do or get something in a very specific way I’ve envisioned it. But that’s not natural, and that school of thought was taught. I’ve been consuming media and it’s overwhelming to take on. There are so many voices, one after the other. And it’s overstimulating, exhausting. I’m dreaming about trusting my own guidance. And I guess I’m the one to ask if that’s the right thing to do. Being up there, I felt the love of all the people there that night. It was cosmic. What a magical night. What a magical time to be alive. Thank you to @adriannelenker and @en_hakim for making such a beautiful atmosphere! and thank you to everyone who supported me onstage!!!! it’s felt. I’ll take it with me throughout my life. taken in Fox Theater - Oakland by @cell.natalie

I was born in may. I grew up with the sound of airplanes bicycle wheels and rubber balls, bouncing against brick

I grew up, knocking on the neighbors’ doors, asking if their kids could play.

I grew up, wandering through the woods, minuets from my house. Where I would open portals into dystopian lives amongst the aging of trees

I listen to bird songs, eclipsing generator hums.

In the spring time, butter cups and violets would spring up through the last snow to remind me of colors so vibrant you had to take them.
I’d come back home with a ‘fairy sword’ in one hand and a bouquet in the other. The soundtrack home would be the crickets and springtime peepers. As it got dark, fireflies would light my way home.

As I acend back up the hill, I walk beside the same telephone wires entangled in vines of the plants inching for more to explore beyond its bounds. in the alleyways leading me back to civilization, I walked back home and hear the wind chimes and children’s laughter calling me home.
Rushing past me, a boy bikes excitedly trailing down the hill to this symphony of springtime.

As I returned to home this weekend, I became reawakened to a fraction of this old routine of mine. In my pondering through these memorized paths, I noticed several of those once mighty trees that took over the stories in my mind had now fallen.

These once sublime trunks cascading over my canopy, are now engrossed by fungus which feast their once sturdy bodies.

I stand on one of these mighty giants. A bridge consumed by new life. Its purpose changed.

Trees may die and fall.
But it is no end.
