🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿🪶 It was a massive pleasure to have a chance to curate and host a Q&A / event ting at Cellb cinema in Blaenau Ffestiniog; with Dyl, Leisa, and Tai Haf Heb Drigolyn + Jac. Really grateful for the people, and the culture and community behind arts in Wales, it’s really special, and it’s always been special. Grassroots everything hunni in dis house. Thanks for giving me a mic Cellb u #rock

I didn’t even really know how to describe Tai Haf’s music before watching them play this gig. I still don’t. But It was beautiful and special to get to ask them about their processes and also their thoughts on arts in Wales, and to no surprise are they just as wonderful as their multi instrumentalist tunes. Plis go listen and treat your ears.

It was also a privilege to talk films with Dyl & Leisa respectively, covering all sorts of topics from subcultures to personal experiences and views on some tricky subjects that both of their films tackled ~ from Welsh language politics and perspectives, y dosbarth canol Cymraeg LOL, and the struggle of unemployment and lack of opportunity and funding in Wales. But nonetheless, if you want to have a village you gotta be a villager. Everybody wants to be a DJ; no one wants to dance.

Roedd Gwion Griffiths yn rhan o sîn ifanc Gwallgofiaid ym Mlaenau Ffestiniog. Erbyn heddiw, mae o’n hanner CELAVI - band nu-metal dwyieithog cyffrous Cymru, wedi chwarae Download Festival a SXSW London. Wan mae Gwion yn dod adra i’r lle ddechreuodd y daith. From Gwallgofiaid to Download… and back to CellB.

Gwion Griffiths was part of the young Gwallgofiaid scene in Blaenau Ffestiniog. Today, he’s one half of CELAVI – one of Wales’ most exciting bilingual nu-metal bands, having played Download Festival and SXSW London.
Now Gwion is coming home to where the journey began.
CELAVI live at CellB, with support from two exciting young bands, Eccentric and Connemara.
