Jim calls this volunteer his sunflower. At first I thought it might be a weed…mind you when it came up I wasn’t able to go to the garden to see it. He wanted to leave it because he thought it could be a lone sunflower. Sure enough it proved him right. It’s so pretty. My zinnias and cosmos planted late are coming along. We will have true summer blooms. Didn’t get a picture of them today. My other flowers are showing off this year. Buddy found a new perch. He’s a normally a tree climber. I am 4 weeks into the hardest and scariest experience of my life. I have had other things happen in 71 years but open heart quadruple bypass surgery was not an expected event for me. Tests, decisions and scheduling happened within a few days so I had little time to process it all. Thankful that the Lord is helping me through this. Thankful for my children, my husband, who is taking care of me everyday, my brother who drove over 2 hours to be there the day of my surgery and thankful to all the nurses, doctors, therapists… from testing to icu and step down unit, who cared for me in the hospital. Thankful for the best heart surgeon along with the best cardiologist at Christ hospital. Thank you to everyone who has been praying for me. I had my Judah care bear with several prayer cloths pinned to him throughout this time. Healing and strength is slow and I have good days and bad. Days when I can’t stop crying and don’t understand this journey and wish for normal again followed by a day with less pain, sadness and anxiety, encouraged to push through. Continued prayers are appreciated as I start cardiac rehab next and continue to get stronger and heal. I’m looking forward to the day I can look back and say “that was truly hard but look how The Lord brought me through…it’s over….I made it…I feel normal again.” by @cengle54

Proverbs 3:5“Trust in the Lord with all your Heart..”Jesus, I give up my need to understand every part of what lies before me. Teach me to trust You with a fuller, steadier faith, even when I cannot see clearly. Settle my heart, quiet the fears within me, and help me rest in the goodness of Your will. I place my life before You with confidence, trust, and peace. Amen. by @cengle54

This is true! owning livestock/animals…is beautiful.but it’s also brutal.people show the good parts..the babies, the first steps, the magic.but not the part where you walk into the barn or run/coop/yard/fieldand know something’s wrong.the panic.the helplessness.the quiet after.because we don’t just “have animals.”we know them. we love them.and when we lose one… it wrecks you.you still cry where you areyou still carry the guilt.you still bury them yourself and whisper “i’m sorry” even when you did everything you could.this life is real.and it hurts.. because you loved them. by @cengle54
