This week, Dr. Kyra Rietveld's Introduction to Visual Analysis: Ancient through Medieval Art & Culture course, visited the R.W. Norton Art Gallery for a morning of close looking and object-based learning!

Students engaged in a general tour of the museum and then focused specifically on the Norton’s collection of ancient Egyptian, Greek, and Roman art. Each student selected an ancient object to observe closely, sketch, and analyze, and will compare it with an artwork they studied in class.

The goal of the visit was to give students the opportunity to encounter ancient objects in person: to take civilizations that can sometimes feel distant in a textbook or lecture and make them tangible, immediate, and connected to what is available right here in Shreveport! by @centenaryla

Our team had a blast supporting the Gents during the Military Heroes game this past Saturday! 🏈🇺🇸

This special game was about so much more than football. It honored our service members and veterans while supporting Kappa Sigma’s fundraiser for the SEAL Legacy Foundation which has already raised $10,000! There were several special tributes throughout the evening, including the Frog-X parachute team delivering the game ball and the Centenary Choir performing Salute to the Armed Forces during halftime.

We look forward to the next Homecoming game against Austin on Oct. 17th! Stop by our tent and pick up some cool new RK x Centenary Athletics merch!

Sacrifice. Honor. Service. Love.🇺🇸

This past weekend, we honored the heroes who have served and sacrificed for our great country. The game ball made an ENTRANCE as Frog X took to the skies and parachuted into the stadium to deliver the ball before kickoff.

Thank you to our military heroes, both past and present.
