Bassist @fresciabelmar brought a dreamy, whimsical energy to the Central Avenue Jazz Festival, blending jazz, fusion, R&B, and rock into a sound that felt completely her own.

Backed by Brian Hargrove and Joe Tavarez, Fresha played with a lightness that made even the most complex passages feel effortless… playful, cinematic, and almost weightless.

Performing on Central Avenue, a space so deeply rooted in Black Los Angeles music history, also carried a sense of respect for the lineage and community that built the festival’s foundation.

@colliersworld brought fire to the Central Avenue Jazz Festival, showing why he is one of the most exciting voices in this new generation of jazz.

Isaiah plays with urgency, spirituality, and complete commitment. His saxophone can sound like a cry, a prayer, and a celebration in the same breath. Backed by Tim Regis - drums, @liyagrigoryan.piano - piano, @marloniusmusic - bass.

That energy carried extra weight on Central Avenue, sacred ground in the history of Black Los Angeles music. Hearing a young artist push jazz forward on the same corridor where generations before him helped shape the culture felt powerful.

Isaiah Collier didn’t simply play a set. He testified.

12 years. One tent. A whole neighborhood showing up.

Saturday's Central Avenue Jazz Festival gave the Arts Pavilion its best day yet, and we're still buzzing.

Councilman Curren D. Price Jr. (@currendpricejr), thank you for starting this with us in 2014 and backing it every year since. None of this happens without you.

To our partners @crcd_southla, @CentralAvenueJazz, @ccscla23, @walktalkin and the Walk Talkin International team who run the logistics behind the scenes — thank you.

What a great Saturday!

The 31st Central Ave Jazz Fest filled the street between MLK and Vernon, the way it has every year since 1996.

Thank you to everyone who came out! To the vendors who fed the block all day, and to the musicians who keep this corridor sounding like history, really thank you for reminding us what a great and talented community we have.

We were proud to help put it on alongside @CurrendPriceJr and the New 9th, and @ccscla.

Same street. New and loved songs. See you next year 🙌

@ttatemusic returned to the legendary Central Avenue Jazz Festival, for the first time in 7 years, and once again, Tati’s magnetism pulled the crowd in until it was standing room only.

Tati’s greatest gift is turning musicianship into pure joy. Smiles, laughter, dancing, and love moved through the crowd as naturally as the music itself.

She was backed by @joaoperrusi Joao Perrusi on guitar, @roscoe_duffy Quinten Farr on keys, @rfisher89 Randal Fisher on saxophone, @wavesbywayne Wayne Matthews on drums, and @kinzie_unchainedt David McKenzie on bass… a band that gave her plenty of room to stretch and connect.

And doing it on Central Avenue carries extra weight. For Black Los Angeles, this corridor is sacred ground… once the heartbeat of Black nightlife, business, culture, and jazz in the city.

Tati didn’t just return to the festival. She added another chapter to that lineage, one filled with brass, rhythm, laughter, and joy.

CAJF has become a yearly tradition for some, a rite of passage for jazz lovers, and even a launchpad for aspiring musicians. The Central Avenue Jazz Festival will continue to celebrate and pay tribute to the giants who built this sound and inspire others to carry it forward.
