Be sure to look out for events on behalf of the central market! If you didn’t know the market is managed by the Central Market Trust, which is a nonprofit! We will be dropping details for events and ways to get involved soon! by @centralmarketlancaster

Did you know that the central market is run by a nonprofit; The Central Market Trust!
.
Until the early 2000’s, the City of Lancaster owned and operated the Central Market. In 2004, a study was commissioned by the City of Lancaster, the County of Lancaster, and the Lancaster Chamber of Commerce & Industry to evaluate the operations and potential of the Market. The Central Market Trust was formed to ensure that the Central Market has the vision, overall decision-making structure, day-to-day management focus, and resources it needs to be an economically successful and financially stable market over the long term.

What a gorgeous day for the annual harvest breakfast at Lancaster Central Market 🍂

Downtown Lancaster is always a popular place to be, and the Fall Harvest Breakfast is such a great local tradition.

The breakfast takes place right outside Lancaster Central Market, which by the way is the oldest continuously operating public market in the country… crazy right? For the event, several of the market standholders offer special breakfast items just for this morning.

There was live music, activities for the kids, plenty of local food, and such a great atmosphere.

I love events like this because they really show off what makes Lancaster County so special — local businesses, community, tradition, and so many great things happening right here in our own backyard.

Central Market is so iconic. You’ll find fresh produce, flowers, meats, cheeses, baked goods, coffee, prepared foods, and so many longtime local vendors all under one roof.
