We’re going through a pretty rough patch, but we can’t help but feel an immense amount of hope and pride as he walks this path (however pothole-ridden and unnecessarily indirect it might be 😵‍💫). More importantly, FITE gear day sent him home full of pride, too. These are retired uniforms they’ve been assigned to train in for the rest of the year. by @centralsplendor

This is it — our final middle of the road first day of school pic for our guy. Senior year is here! 🥹

There’s no such thing as easy when it comes to this kid (if you know, you know), but we’re certainly feeling good about the path he’s choosing. He’s diving headfirst into pursuing a career as a firefighter and enjoying his first couple weeks of FITE while he gears up for his second year of Running Start.

He still loves all things bikes, photography, and recently started climbing again because his algorithm is clearly “Is there speed? Height? Fire? Possibility of bodily injury? Will my moms be worried 99% of the time? Great, yeah, I’ll do that.”

Had ZERO plans to see Dave Matthews at The Gorge yesterday. Apparently a random ticket offer was just the wild hair I needed. ESPECIALLY didn’t have plans (or literally any provisions!) to spend the night. Apparently I still easily succumb to peer/teen pressure (let’s be real, they didn’t have to push too hard). Thanks to our friends for letting us crash their super sweet camp setup. We sang, we danced (Wyatt even danced WITH me!), we spent $25 on a single drink in a can (x2), we took like 5 photos and even fewer videos, we slept sitting up in the freezing car with minimal blankets, and we made it home by 10am happy and exhausted (one of us is happy, at least. The other one is pissed I made us leave this morning). Look out…he’s already planning next year. 🎶 taken in The Gorge Amphitheatre by @centralsplendor
