There’s always another call to answer, another problem to solve, another place you’re supposed to be. After a while, you stop hearing your own thoughts because you’re too busy carrying the weight of everything else.

I’ve realized that everyone needs a ritual that brings them back to themselves.

For some people it’s the gym. For others it’s music, photography, or getting out into nature.

For me, it’s cars.

There’s something about slowing down and working with your hands that resets everything. Every pass of the towel, every small detail, every minute spent focused on one thing instead of a hundred. It’s one of the few times my mind goes quiet.

And when it’s finished, I don’t usually head anywhere important.

I just drive.

No destination. No timeline. Just enough road to let the day fall behind me and enough silence to hear myself again.

I don’t think I’ve ever been searching for a place.
