Well, the time has finally come… As of May 9th, 2025, I will have officially obtained my Bachelor’s Degree in Mass Communications with a concentration in Public Relations. The realization that I have completed my undergraduate studies feels so bittersweet and surreal; however, I am so grateful to see all of the hard work I’ve put in over the past four years come to fruition and be brought to life.

College was a space that allowed me the opportunity to continue growing into a more intelligent, well-rounded, respectful, and authentic young man. I thank God for blessing me with an amazing college journey in spite of having Tourettes, because there were many days and nights when I felt like I just couldn’t do it—but I proved myself wrong and always kept my end goal in mind. I take pride in being able to say that in a few more days, I will be another highly educated young man with a college degree, committed to making it my business to change the world for the better.

With all that being said, I will now be pursuing my Master’s Degree in Integrated Communications through VCU this upcoming semester. I truly thank God for the opportunities he’s blessed me with throughout my undergraduate years and look forward to seeing what blessings will be bestowed upon my life as I enter this new chapter.

First and foremost, I would like to start off by saying thank you all so much for the many years of continuous love and support that you’ve shown me throughout my journey with Tourettes Syndrome. There is not a day that goes by that I do not thank God for allowing me to be the young man that I am in spite of living with the condition that I somehow continue to thrive through the perils of life with. It is with great honor and gratitude that someone so close to me, a brother, a friend, a confidant is running a huge marathon like this not only in support of me, but in support of all the other many individuals living their everyday lives with Tourettes Syndrome as well. My brother, Carson, has made it his mission to raise money and awareness so that individuals just like me can figure out why our body’s act the way they do and how we can make the best out of our circumstances even when things get tough. We kindly ask that if you can donate towards a cause that is greater than all of us that you would do so!! The Tourettes community loves and appreciates you more than you’ll truly ever know.

Again, thank you for always loving and supporting me.

Firstly, I’d like to start off by saying thank you all so much for the continuous support regarding the past seven years that I’ve been spreading awareness about Tourettes Syndrome. As I typed out seven years, I really couldn’t believe that when I started posting these videos I was in my sophomore year of high school. Now in just a few months I’ll be graduating with my Masters Degree in Communications. As I’ve said in the videos, as I’ve continued to matriculate in age, my Tourettes has began to look different from what I can remember in my adolescent/teenager days. I’ve noticed that my Tourettes is always a conversation starter, which truly allows me to spread awareness about it in the most authentic way that I possibly can. I truly thank God for blessing me with family, friends, and a support system like you all that have watched me grow with Tourettes for many years now. My goal for this year is to start answering the questions about Tourettes that you all commented under the last post I made and or inboxed me. I would like to continue sharpening my page into an awareness/lifestyle kind of page and with you alls support I am very confident that I will be able to do that very seamlessly. Once again, thank you for watching and supporting.

Happy Birthday to you, @ladyt_323

I am truly so grateful to have been blessed with you as a mother. When I think about all of the love, support, and mentorship that you have poured into me the past 23 years of my life I am nothing but speechless, yet amazed. As I’ve grown older, I have come to the realization that life can be very unpredictable at times but with all of your patience, guidance, and love all of the trials and triumphs the world tries to throw my way I always push through and prevail. With all of this being said, again, Happy 55th Birthday to you Momma. I love you more than I love myself.

Your first born son,

Greetings all, allow me to reintroduce myself. My name is William Atkins IV and I am a 22 year old young man living and thriving with Tourettes Syndrome. Tourettes Syndrome is a neurodevelopmental disorder that continuously grows with one as they continue to matriculate in age.

Tourettes Syndrome causes individuals to have both motor and vocal tics. Motor tics consists of twitching, jerking, jaw popping, eye batting, etc. To make it easier to understand, motor tics are uncontrollable movements you’ll see my body make throughout the videos. On the other hand, vocal tics consists of coughing, sniffling, clearing of the throat, etc. Vocal tics are uncontrollable sounds that one might hear coming from an individual with Tourettes Syndrome.

I thank God for seeing me through all four years of college in spite of all my various tics. With that being said, now that I have graduated I feel as though it is very important to pick back where I left off when it comes to spreading awareness about Tourettes Syndrome!! I am extremely dedicated to not only breaking the main stigma associated with TS, but also helping to make sure individuals develop a general compassionate consensus of what TS entails.

Feel free to drop some questions and comments down below regarding what you’d like to know more about Tourettes Syndrome. I’ll be sure to answer them!! Thank you again for your all of support in advance.
