At Champion Hill to watch Dulwich Hamlet Women against Northampton Town. Cold enough to need coats for first time this season and floodlights on even for a 2pm start. It's ok, though: we have souvlaki to warm us and brighten the day... by @cer1th0mas

Halloween outing to the mighty Peckhamplex to see the least scary supernatural movie imaginable. Which is fine as I'm a big wuss when it comes to horror movies...

The Ghosts film is well worth a watch if you're a fan of the TV show (newcomers will presumably be baffled as it assumes a tonne of knowledge...). A bright, warm and genuinely funny little movie, it expands on the sitcom just enough to justify the big screen and getting to hang out with the characters one last time is well worth the price of admission. by @cer1th0mas

Sunday was our last day in Tbilisi so myself and my remaining fencing teammates spent it siteseeing.

Cue a trip out to the mammoth (and mammothly impressive) Chronicles of Georgia monument; a wander around the old town; a cable car ride up to the Mother of Georgia statue that looks protectively down on the city; accidentally gatecrashing a wedding at the cathedral; a walk over the Peace Bridge; and loads of other little adventures.

Thank you, Tbilisi!

Hmm, the Italian team seem to have hacked the trains on the Elizabeth Line... by @cer1th0mas

Will there be clues that the 7am flight from Tbilisi to London is full of fencers? Maybe... by @cer1th0mas

A rainy night in Georgia...

There was a brief thunderstorm on our last night in Tbilisi so I took a quick walk around the block before crashing out ahead of our 4.30am airport taxi. by @cer1th0mas

The two best things about the World Championships in Tbilisi, though, were the performances of some of my team mates and friends.

First, getting to watch and cheer yesterday as the great Carl Morris won and then collected the Gold medal as 70+ men's sabre champion after one of the most dominant performances in a final I think I've ever seen.

Then second, today, as a GB Grand Veterans men's sabre team full of my friends staged an amazing comeback to win the Bronze medal. Emmanuel, Duncan, Chris J, Chris C-S and Carl (again) were astounding and the rest of the GB team shouted itself hoarse cheering them on. by @cer1th0mas

The team event at the World Veterans Championships definitely made up for some of the disappointment of my lacklustre performance in the previous day's individual event.

Ranked 15th out of 19 teams, we beat a surprisingly tough Kazakhstan team to set up a last 16 clash with 2nd seeds Italy. We didn't disgrace ourselves but they put us out of the main draw and into the battle for places.

Wins over Hungary and an epic against Spain (with Steve winning the last leg 7-2) then finally a loss against the USA saw us finish 10th. Great? No. But very, very satisfying considering where we started the day.

This was a fantastic team to be part of. Everyone made important contributions at key moments and the support was immense. My personal highlight? The 7th leg against the Hungarians where I turned a 6 point deficit into a one point lead by scoring 11 to my opponent's 4. It genuinely left me feeling like a fencer again.

Huge thanks to Shaf, Steve, Rubin and captain Mo. I loved competing alongside you today. Now we can all put those damn lanyards away... by @cer1th0mas
