The way this book was written was so beautiful. On the surface it was a story of a star-crossed romance, but even more than that it was a study in human connection. The way that we open ourselves up and make ourselves vulnerable for people when we love them, and how that also means we are opening up to pain and grief, but the love and connection makes it all worth it. What is life without all of that? Exploring this through the concept of true soulmates that inevitably hurt one another in order to be in love was devastating and beautiful at the same time.

Normally I am not a huge fan of flashback scenes, but in this book they worked very well. I loved the way we got snippets of Arden and Evelyn's love story with the flashbacks to prior lives. I will say that I saw part of the twist coming before it was revealed, but I think that is because I have been researching different mythologies about rebirth and fate recently. I think the ending was perfect!

Parts of this book reminded me of "The Invisible Life of Addie LaRue", and a little of another book I got to read early called "All We Have Is Time". Mostly the nonlinear style and the atmosphere of these books. If you like either of those, then you will likely enjoy this one too!

I got some Book Mail from @harpercollins ! I had requested the ARC for this book from @netgalley , but I thought I would only get the ebook version as I usually do. I was pleasantly surprised! This book sounds right up my alley, and is going to be pushed to the front of my TBR. I am so excited to read it!

Currently reading "Our Infinite Fates", by Laura Steven. This book is very good so far. While it is about the star-crossed love of Evelyn and Arden, it is also about love in general and all that comes with love. by @ceruleanheather

Book Mail! I actually received this package about a week ago, but I hadn't had the chance to unbox it until recently. This book Mail was from @entangled_publishing , and is a copy of "My Forever Girl", by Laura Pavlov. It is a contemporary romance about childhood friends, and it sounds very enjoyable! The book is covered in pretty purple art, and it has sprayed edges! I am excited to read this one, although I have a few more to finish before I start this one. Thank you Entangled!

This series has been full of scheming, politics, and magic, but one thing it is not: a romance. However, I still feel bad for the characters that had that relationship! It is brutal and realistic in many ways, but also sad. "Disappearing Man" came into my head as soon as this man said that line! The song actually fits the characters so well. I am really enjoying this series!

I got this ARC from @entangled_publishing about two weeks ago, I think literally on release day, but I wasn't ready to start it yet. I just started reading it today and it is so good so far! The way the author explores the sibling bond is really interesting, and I love Zaira already.

I am so excited to be a part of the track announcements for @noahkahanmusic 's new album, The Great Divide. I got a postcard and a patch in the mail as a surprise yesterday, but it was late when I got home and I am 😂 Anyway, here is Track 14: We Go Way Back! @kahanhq thank you for including me, this is so cool! My teenager was also super excited, but she didn't want to be in the video.

This was mysterious, twisting, atmospheric, and I devoured it! I was hooked right from the beginning with the mystery of what was happening to June and the mystery of the past. All of the little clues made me want to find out more.

I wouldn't say the book was slow to start, but it did have a lot to set up. Once June saw the door the pace picked up quite a bit, and it was difficult to put the book down. The small town murder mystery, the descriptive writing, and seeing through June's eyes made the setting very evocative.

Each character also felt so real! June's relationship with her Gran was beautiful, and the people in her life genuinely cared for her. The connections made to various characters throughout the story were wild!

There was a little romance, but the main relationship themes were self-discovery, family, and the loves that we choose. I definitely cried a few times.

The twists in this book were so fun to figure out as the story unfolded. One of them towards the end I definitely did not see coming! My jaw literally dropped. So good!

It kind of reminded me of Outlander, but the later stories where Claire has Briana. If you like Outlander, or that Netflix show "Dark", you would probably enjoy this.
