My heart is so full. 🥹❤️
Last September, my friend Cerwaa told me, “Wesley, there’s this event coming up. I want us to be food vendors, and we’re going to do it.”

And she didn’t just say it. She made sure we DID IT.

What makes this even more emotional for me is that two months ago, I lost my job. I genuinely didn’t know what was next or what I was going to do, but I told myself I was going to bet on myself and figure it out.

Then this weekend happened.And I think I underestimated how loved and supported I really am.

You guys SHOWED UP AND SHOWED OFF! 😭 People came to our stand and waited 40, sometimes 50 minutes for food. Some people didn’t even get their food and STILL came back the next day. No anger, just patience, love and support. I don’t think I can properly explain what that meant to me.

Friday to Sunday was not easy. We were TIRED.🤦🏾‍♂️There were moments we looked at each other like, “Yeah… we cannot do this.” But every single day, we got up, cooked again, showed up again and did what needed to be done.And I have to give flowers where they’re due because THIS TEAM?! ❤️

Serwa, the mastermind behind all of this — the woman who said we were going to do it and actually made sure we DID IT. Sandra and Hilda, our two amazing chefs who COOKED and cooked and COOKED 😭😂. And then myself, somewhere in the middle of all the madness doing what I do.

The four of us really became a power team that weekend. Different strengths, different personalities, but one goal. And somehow, we made it happen.But through all of it, God was right there.

This weekend reminded me that when God says He’s going to do something, just let Him cook. Because truly, with Him, all things are possible.

I thought betting on myself meant content, fashion and figuring out my next move. I’m realizing now that it might be so much bigger than what I had in mind.So this post is simply to say THANK YOU.

If you had told me a few years ago that I’d be standing in front of Danessa Myricks, introducing her to Unami, I honestly wouldn’t have believed you.

This wasn’t just another networking moment. This was meeting someone whose journey has inspired me as a founder and reminded me that building something meaningful is possible. To share my products with someone I’ve looked up to for so long? Unreal. 😭🩵

These are the moments that make every late night, every rejection, every event, and every sacrifice worth it. I’m leaving even more motivated to keep building because maybe… just maybe… I’m closer to my dreams than I think. 🩵

And that last slide… seeing Unami Skincare on a billboard in New Orleans during Essence 😭😭😭 This moment still feels so unreal to me. From an idea to THIS. God, I’m so grateful 🥹🙏🏾🩵

Y’all thought I forgot about the Known Conference review? 😂

Trust me, I didn’t.

I’ve been sitting on this one because I wanted to be fair. I know this was their first year, and I genuinely respect anyone bold enough to put together an event of this scale.

BUT…

Sending vendors important instructions less than 8 hours before the event, lack of communication, last-minute changes, and leaving vendors confused ain’t it.

The vision was there. The potential is there. The community definitely showed up.

But if this conference is going to grow, communication and organization have to be taken seriously.

This isn’t hate. It’s feedback from someone who paid to be there and wants to see the event succeed.

Anyway… here’s my review. 👀🍿

Weekend dump 🇬🇭

This weekend was truly special. I had the honor of attending and supporting the King of Tepa, who also happens to be family. Being surrounded by so much tradition, history, royalty, and culture reminded me how proud I am to be Ashanti. ❤️💛💚

I learned so much about our customs, our people, and the beauty behind who we are as Asantes. Moments like this make me appreciate my roots even more. Forever proud to represent where I come from. 🇬🇭👑
