Camera Roll Favs 🤙🏻

Some years ago, I asked a friend @doncabeza, how he manages to surf Pipeline, catch those waves and compete with the best.

His answer was simple:

“Hunger. Sometimes you’re not the best, but you just want it more.”

This isn’t anywhere close to Pipeline, but I’ve tried to apply that advice to the things I enjoy doing in order to keep pushing myself.

When you really want something, you stop looking for excuses not to do it and start finding ways to make it happen. Enjoying the process, adapting the mindset and expanding your limits 🔥

Speaking of Pipeline, I’m riding the Carver signature model from Pipe King @whoisjob 33.5 with the C7 setup. 😮‍💨

Thoughts, action and the Eclipse 🌑

When the moon covers the light, something shifts. The sun’s warmth drops, even if just slightly, and that temperature change creates a pressure change in the air around us. This is not a small detail, pressure changes are tied to electroconductivity. Think of a volcano erupting: hot air from the eruption collides with cold air above, and that clash is exactly why lightning often strikes during eruptions. The bigger the pressure differential, the more energy gets generated, the more conductive the space around it becomes.

An eclipse works on a smaller scale, but the principle is the same. Temperature drops, pressure shifts, and the energetic field around us becomes, in a sense, more conductive. That’s why many people feel tired the day after an eclipse, not necessarily in the moment itself, but once the body has processed being exposed to that atmospheric shift. Now, take that idea further.

If space-time could be bent and time travel would be possible, it would likely require some kind of pressure differential too (think about compressing and stretching air on a syringe). I’m not saying an eclipse opens a portal, I’m saying the same underlying principle, pressure change creating higher energetic conductivity, is probably what any real bending of space-time would require.

An eclipse in that light, is a small, natural example of that principle in motion: a moment when the field around us opens up just slightly, and what you have in your heart and mind (your own frequency generator) gets exponential. There’s an old belief that eclipses open a door for entities, good or bad. I think an eclipse catalyzes what’s already inside you. It doesn’t bring anything new, it amplifies what’s already there.

Here are some tricks, amplified by repetition. Some landed tired but that is what doing what you love sometimes looks like.

Surf, Skate and Punk Rock 🎸

1992 Taylor Steele drops “Momentum.” A punk rock scored surf video that made the footage feel faster, rawer, more alive. It came together with surfing evolution to airs, radical maneuvers and Kelly Slater jumping on the scene.

Skate videos of that era were doing the same thing. Teens started surfing and skating because of the music in those videos. Kids started listening to punk because of how surf and skate felt with punk music.

Surf, skate and punk rock offered a rebellious, fun and authentic combination that had a huge impact on the punk scene and on both sports. The docu 1994 tells the story better:

The influence from bands like NOFX, Pennywise, Bad Religion and Blink 182 traveled the world with those surf videos including my homeland, and had a big influence on the creation of “La Unión Punk” and local bands like @goe_38 and @69segundosofficial with a Fck the system/ get back up attitude.

Things that impact you in that way stay with you, that’s maybe why I keep trying new things and getting slammed like a 17yo 🤣 by @cesar_rohon
