Dan continues to inspire.❤️ Family member Michael Beauparlant and Savannah Shifflett recently stopped to honor Dan's memorial stupa on their trek to Everest Base Camp. Michael wrote: " Dan has always been and continues to be an inspiration for me. I still clearly remember being at family gatherings when I was younger and talking to him. He inspired me through his words and his actions. Hearing his stories inspired me then and they continue to inspire me now."

April 25, 2022 - 7 years. Sharing some of Dan's humor to brighten your day. We have to laugh every time we hear this music start. Sending our love and Dan's laughter to all who loved Dan. May you feel as good today as Dan made you feel. What a legacy!

Happy 40th Birthday, Dan! You were pure gold. We can't help but smile to remember your story of your escape from the Grasburg Gold Mine in Papua, after your climb of Carstensz Pyramid. As I contemplate the wonder of our son Dan for his 39th birthday, a lot of his images are in my mind… his free spirit, his adventurous and restless nature, his bravery, and his contagious joie de vie. This is the time of year when he loved to be at Burning Man. A few days ago, I discovered that Dan is descended from the famous Catherine Annennontak, of the Wyandot Hurons. Her father, Nicolas Arendanki, was the distinguished Chieftan of the Bear Clan. Dan would have been delighted to learn about Catherine, since they share so many qualities. (Her family story is amazing.) It has been in my imagination the last few day that a bit of Dan’s unique spark could have come from the DNA passed down from Catherine. I’d like to think that his spirit is aligned with his ancestor Catherine. Happy Birthday, Dan!
