1 Year ago today, August 20 2025, I said yes to a invite not knowing how much it would change my life. Alive Church has brought me a beautiful spiritual family, community, mentorship, but most important helped me find something i was missing all my life and that was a relationship with Jesus. Romans 8:18 is a verse i’ve always loved, it teaches me that no matter the situation, the Lord turns our worst chapters into the reason we still have a story, i’ve learned a season of pain Jesus will turn into the most fruitful season of your life. I gave Jesus 1 year and He changed my life, I encourage you all to allow Him to do the same, you give him an inch He will take you a mile, He is our Shepherd.

I wanted to touch on the community i’ve built at Alive especially Alive Youth, I been blessed with 2 spiritually led brothers that r there for me when I need them, it’s one think to have a bsf but it’s another thing to have a spiritually led brotherhood. Along with them the Lord blessed me with a mentor, a mentor who I can always rely on, no matter what he’s going through he makes time to help me out and give the best spiritually led advice possible, he’s not a mentor but the big brother ive never had, these are 3 men of God that without them I wouldn’t have grown as much as I did in this year, that’s how I truly know the Lord sent them.(Proverbs 27:17)

Lastly I wanted to speak about Alive youth and AYX26, I began creating friendships i’d never thought I have. Pastor Ken once said “You need people that see something in your life that you don’t see.” and that couldn’t be more true. Soon after I was offered with a role to become a student leader, it was a very difficult decision at the time for certain reasons, when I decided to say yes, I once again under estimated how much the Lord can do with a simple yes and obedience, with a summer that started a bit rough emotionally turned into a summer where I was radically changed into someone I didn’t recognize at the end of school year last spiritually. I couldn’t be more glad for my yes. Thanks to the Lord blessing me with a beautiful Church, I will forever call Alive my Church home.
