George Shaw at Anthony Wilkinson Gallery in Soho, London.
Nostalgic, familiar, sad.
Fabulous show; great little gallery.
Got a bit of glare on some of the photos, but posted anyway.

Today in the studio. Allowing the raw paint effects to take center stage. Comparing the first 3 to yesterday's work, it's like I have a toggle switch between styles. So be it.

WIPs.
Struggling a bit with each of these. More or less the same palette with each, but so different!
Hope to resolve them tomorrow. Nearly there.

A couple of charcoal paintings I'm working on. Way too hot and muggy to be using wet media in the studio today.

This piece is by Caren Hyde, currently on display in Oxbow’s front gallery group show “ATMOSPHERE”, come see it and more wonderful works this weekend! by @ch_painter

Johannes Kjarval (1885-1972). Icelandic painter and painter of Iceland. Boy, could he paint moss! And so much more. You can see how his experience of the Icelandic landscape infiltrated his figurative work ( and this is evident in other Icelandic figurative and abstract artists too) . Wonderful artist and a fabulous museum in Reykjavik dedicated to his work.
This year's Birthday art book. by @ch_painter

I'll probably keep these as alla prima paintings. I like the rawness.
