Welcome to year 4 with Buttafleyes!✨
Allow me to officially introduce myself. My name is Chanel Ruff, mama to @buttafleyes__ @fleyegirlstudios 🫶🏽 I am 26 years old, I’m a Cancer. I was born & raised in Bedstuy, Brooklyn. I am a first generation college graduate of the 1st HBCU, Lincoln University. I have my bachelor’s degree in Business Management. I graduated in 2019, & I am a Delta woman. I am a business owner, lash artist + lash trainer + rental arbitrager. My business is my heart & soul & I love what I do!

It feels like just yesterday, 2019 I was in my dorm teaching myself the skill. I would always see lash extensions evolving from 2018 but I was a broke college student. I already knew I wanted to be an entrepreneur & thought why not take advantage of a growing industry. Post-grad, I began to save to invest & I spent time practicing on family until being able to afford taking a lash course because I wanted to learn more. I built a small clientele through the pandemic, then rented my first booth. 2 years later the same space became my very own first salon suite & now I hold the opportunity to create a space to help other woman do the same!

In this journey, there was no handouts & I’ve strictly been doing lashes since. It wasn’t easy but doing lashes honestly changed my life & gave me so many opportunities. I encourage anyone who’s interested in investing in themselves to do so! You never know where a skill like this can take you whether it’s a side hustle or full time.
