After many years of trials and tribulations - Deteriorate by @strangeheavenautumn is finally out.

For those of you that may remember, this is the band huo (my old band) turned into. Majority of these songs were huo songs many years ago. I could sit here and harp on the reasons it took so long to finish - but I'm just grateful these songs are out in the world for people to enjoy/hopefully relate to.

These songs wouldn't be nearly as special and interesting if it weren't for my band mates. I love these dudes endlessly.

Chris took a shot recording us when we didn't really have much of a name for ourselves (we still don't lmao) and I'll always appreciate that + doing such a great job capturing these songs the way they were meant to be heard. He understood the vision and knocked it out of the park. These recordings are timeless and that is something I'll always look back fondly on.

Select songs on the record have viola performed by Spencer, and I truly believe it sets those songs apart from the sea of music that might sound similar to us. We go way back, and I love that he was a part of this record.

Sierra lent her vocals to the last song on the record, "End of December". This was the most recent song I wrote for the album, and it seemed like right away Chris knew he wanted to collab with one of our day 1 homies. Of course Sierra was the perfect fit, and I think it made the song really really special. Shout out @withsailsahead

Bruh, the art!!! Need I say more?? Seriously though, Cory consistently crushes with his art and our cover is no exception. I really appreciate his patience with us through it all. We weren't too sure what exactly we wanted originally, but the end result is one we're beyond happy with. I think it captures the vibe of the record really well.

Anyways, stream the record. Show it to a friend. I put more of myself into these songs than I ever will into any other music... at least that's how it feels in hindsight. There's a part of me in these songs that likely won't exist elsewhere. by @chaaboyy

I can't tell you how often I beat myself up over the fact I wasn't the most annoying person on earth when @strangeheavenautumn released our album last year.

Likely due to the fact all of the songs were multiple years old by the time of release, I was about to move across country, and already had tons of stuff I had to musically elsewhere. My brain just couldn't really structure a way to showcase all these songs I put so much of myself into. It almost seemed like I gave everything into the music. But that just feels like an excuse to be lazy in hindsight.

I don't think I've ever put as much emotion into music as I did with the Strange Heaven Autumn record "Deteriorate" - especially the song "Grav"

I really felt like we created a world within a song and every time I listen I get transcended there. It's crazy to me to think MY own music can do that to ME. Which makes me wonder what other people would feel...

But with this day and age you either need to be so annoying with the posts, somehow go viral, or pay a bunch of money (PR) to even have the chance of getting heard beyond your little circle. I think knowing that made me lose so much spark. Even after you've given it your all, you have to figure out how to package it all nicely so people can consume it the only way they know how: in 30 second vertical clips.

At this point I'm just rambling - but if you've read this far and truly care about the things I do/make - please check out the Strange Heaven Autumn album. I think this is my sign to make more SHA related videos. Better late than never I guess by @chaaboyy
