I have a new business idea.
1) Flip me $200
2) I come to your house wearing Carhartts and a work flannel with a carpenters pencil sticking out of my pocket.
3) I tell your wife the renovation she wants to do is impossible because that’s a load bearing wall.

You’re welcome. by @chad_minor

Sometimes I struggle to walk inside. To a meeting. To an event. Life itself.

So I pause. Close my eyes. Breathe. Then press on.

You see, nobody tells you that part. The world tells you that if you build a good life, the good life makes it easy. Nobody tells you some mornings you still have to talk yourself into putting your left foot in front of the right.

Here’s something I’ve been learning:

You can be blessed and still have to fight for your mood.

You can love your life and still have to psych yourself up for a Tuesday.

You can have it all together and still need a minute before you walk into a meeting.

That’s not weakness. That’s just what life actually looks like sometimes.

I used to think needing a minute was a bad thing. That it meant something was off. Turns out, it just means I care.

So if you needed a minute before you walk into whatever God’s calling you to do, good.

You’re not falling short. You’re not losing. You’re not less than.

You’re just... you. And you’re ok.

So take breath, take a moment, then take a step. Then another. Eventually the next step will get a bit more manageable.

And if you ever need someone in your corner, you know where to find me. by @chad_minor

We took William on a visit today to Marietta College, and I’ll be honest, it made me think about how fast these last few years have gone. It feels like yesterday I was taking him to practice, and now we’re driving around talking about where he might spend the next four years. There’s this funny thing about being a parent where you spend years getting them ready to go, then wonder where the time went when they actually start getting ready to leave. If I’m being honest, I’m just trying to enjoy this season and soak up as much of it as I can. taken in Marietta College by @chad_minor

Evening y’all! Just wanted to pop on to say hello then throw my phone on its cord! Most nights and weekends it usually sits here. Connected to a cord rather than living in my pocket.

My brother gives me a hard time about my phone. “Where in the world are you? Why aren’t you answering your phone?”

And if I’m being honest, most of the time I’m somewhere my phone isn’t.

I’ve found myself leaving it here more often lately. Not because I don’t like all of you here on social media. I actually enjoy it. I love everyone I’ve connected with, the stories, the conversations, the ideas, and even the occasional rabbit hole that starts with a post and somehow ends an hour later with 67 comments (See what I did there).

But I’ve also begun to realize how much I enjoy the world outside of my phone.
It reminds me of a time when phones were attached to the wall. When you left the house, the phone stayed right there, connected by a cord. Back then, nobody thought it was strange if they couldn’t get a hold of you. You simply went about your day.

There’s something I really like about that.

I like sitting around a bonfire and getting lost in a conversation. I enjoy being outside with my wife and being present with what’s happening around me. I love hanging out with my boys living in the moment rather than feeling like I have to capture it. And if you really know me, you know I’m extremely fond of conversations that go absolutely nowhere.

I’ve started to seek out those spaces where you look around and realize, “I’m really glad I’m here.”

So, more and more, I’m going to leave my phone right here. Right where you see it.

And if my brother calls and I don’t answer, he’ll probably leave me a message: “Where in the world are you?”

And I’ll smile, gratef that he called to check in on me while I was outside wandering somewhere. #beblessed #disconnect #mentalhealth by @chad_minor

My dude @bziegler32 and I had this crazy idea to rent a park and have an outdoor service. Then we thought, what if we have our buddy Mike Gallina (Vice President of Organizational Development and Community Engagement at AultCare) come out and be our guest speaker. Then we said let’s baptize people. Then we said let’s give our offering to the Refuge of Hope. Then we said let’s smoke some meat and do a meal. Then we said let’s have jump houses. In short, today was incredible! taken in Camp Wanakee by @chad_minor
