What a wild ride!
10 years ago, I took a crazy risk and invested everything into an old 3000 sqf warehouse. People thought it was a terrible idea, but I had a vision. Just like when I started fighting, I had no clue how to make it work. But I pushed forward and had a 15-year career that took me across the world and on the biggest stages in the sport. That same feeling I had with fighting, I had it with the gym.

Slowly, the warehouse filled with students and athletes. I created more programs and hired more instructors. The name CMMA became known. We expanded to 4000 sqf, but it wasn't enough. Then Covid hit, and we almost didn't make it. Our membership dropped by 80%, and the bills kept piling up. But we refused to give up.

Thanks to our incredible staff and loyal members, we survived. We did everything in our power to stay motivated - online classes, social distancing, and countless Zoom calls. As the pandemic ended, we swung open our doors. Day after day, the classes got bigger and the academy was packed. We not only survived, but we started thriving. We couldn't fit any more people into the gym. It was clear - we needed a bigger place.

Two years later, I took yet another risk. I again emptied everything into the unknown and took on the challenge of a new location - a giant 8000 sqf monster. I had no clue how I was going to pull it off, but, that seems to be my life's story. And now, after 10 years of blood, sweat, and tears, we're not only celebrating this incredible milestone but also the official opening of the new CMMA Academy Headquarters.

I am beyond grateful for every single person who has walked through our doors - the supporters, the haters, and everyone who has been a part of this incredible journey. Your support and criticism have pushed us to become better every day. So, please join us this Sunday (rain or shine) from 9 am to 4 pm as we celebrate this momentous occasion.

🇺🇸 Living the American Dream! 🙏🏼

Thank God, yesterday I took another huge step toward achieving my dreams and providing a better life for my family. I still can’t believe I’m officially a UFC fighter! It’s going to take some time to sink in.

None of this would have been possible without the people who stood by my side, supported me, and believed in me. I’m incredibly grateful to my family, friends, training partners, coaches, and physical therapists. This achievement belongs to you too!

It was an extremely difficult week, with my wife hospitalized while I had to be away, focused on one of the biggest moments of my career. I’m forever grateful to the friends who stayed with her at the hospital, day and night. I’ll never forget what you did for us!

Today, thank God, my wife is back home, our daughter is doing well, and I’m living a dream I’ve fought for so many years to achieve.

All I can do is thank God for everything! May He bless and protect each and every one of you!

This is just the beginning! NOTHING CHANGES, FOLLOW THE PLAN!

Graças a Deus, ontem dei mais um grande passo na minha vida, em busca dos meus sonhos e de proporcionar uma vida melhor para minha família. Ainda é difícil acreditar que agora sou oficialmente um lutador do UFC! Acho que a ficha vai demorar um pouco para cair.

Nada disso seria possível sem tantas pessoas que estiveram ao meu lado, me apoiando e acreditando em mim. Sou imensamente grato à minha família, amigos, parceiros de treino, treinadores e fisioterapeutas. Essa conquista também é de vocês!

Foi uma semana extremamente difícil, com minha esposa internada enquanto eu precisava estar longe, focado em um dos momentos mais importantes da minha carreira. Agradeço de coração aos amigos que ficaram com ela no hospital, dia e noite. Nunca vou esquecer o que fizeram por nós!

Hoje, graças a Deus, minha esposa está em casa, nossa filha está bem e estou realizando um sonho pelo qual lutei durante tantos anos.

Só tenho a agradecer a Deus por tudo! Que Ele abençoe e proteja cada um de vocês!

WHAT A NIGHT! 2-0 at UFC Dana White’s Contender Series!

I couldn’t be more proud of these two men and honored to step into battle alongside them.

@luis_francischinelli walked into my gym four years ago with a dream of fighting in the UFC. A tall kickboxer with no grappling experience, barely spoke English, and couldn’t stop a takedown to save his life. (Joking)

Four years later, seven knockouts and a complete transformation into a well rounded MMA fighter, he earned his UFC contract! A dream worked toward together from day one.

This camp was filled with adversity. Injuries, the birth of his daughter, and unexpected challenges at home. He had every reason not to fight, but he pushed through it all. Tonight he showed what it means to be a true champion, both inside the cage and in life. Congratulations, my brother! You earned this!

@erickvisconde.mma is an absolute MONSTER!

This man made weight TWICE in two weeks to face arguably the toughest opponent of the entire DWCS season. An undefeated world champion kickboxer, 9-0 with nine finishes.

Erik went out and put on a grappling masterclass against an extremely dangerous opponent. Unfortunately, the UFC contract didn’t come tonight, but he proved he belongs there. AGAIN!

A contract doesn’t define that performance or the fighter you’ve become. We know where you belong, and we’re not stopping until we get there. So proud of you, brother!

As a coach, there is nothing more rewarding than watching the people you believe in overcome adversity and prove to themselves what they’re capable of.

“NOTHING CHANGES. FOLLOW THE PLAN.”

None of this happens alone. Thank you to our coaches and teammates for the countless hours and sacrifices that made these camps possible.

Thank you to my wife, our @cmmafitness staff, and all our incredible students for showing up, tuning in, and supporting these men.

Special thank you to @guilherme_guimma and @angel_verduzco96 for the great corner work and preparation. Could not have done it without you.

The junior squad showed out tonight. 3 great performances and lots of learning in the cage for these guys.

@andrew.russell8 wins by 30 second rear naked choke.

@jordysrios had a war with a tough opponent. He was dropped in the second round and pulled out his @30clip_mma dog and came back to finish strong with a unanimous decision victory.

@evnn._.a picked up the split decision win in his debut.
