Back where I belong.
Combat sports break you down mentally long before you step back on the canvas. Dealing with a patellar dislocation, a discoid meniscus, and joint effusion is brutal, but the physical pain pales in comparison to the isolation of the sidelines. Watching everyone else put in the work while you sit in forced silence tests a different kind of endurance. It is a quiet, frustrating darkness.
That forced distance strips away everything except your pure desire to fight. A true warrior spirit is forged in that isolation, learning patience and refusing to let an injury dictate the end of the road.
Stepping onto the mats today brings a level of gratitude I cannot put into words. The swelling is still there and the recovery is far from over, but feeling the canvas again makes every single day of rehab worth it. Back to work. 👊🏼🔥 by @chady__karam
