I was telling a bookish friend that I’m terrible at reading ARCs. Living in NYC, I have many opportunities to get physical print copies of ARCs.

Also, (I have a few additional ARCs not pictured here!)

I recently attended Adore, Amor, A Romance Festival organized by @thebronxisreading . A day filled with a book swap, bookish arts and crafts, shopping, panels and much more. I was able to score the ARC for Marie Lu’s next book. During the book swap, I was able to snag B.K. Borison’s book.

From Mandii B’s panel, where sexuality and relationships were discussed. Mandi said, “We are dating for character and not security” and “Don’t let them take you from you.” Both of those statements resonated with me. Overall, a wonderful day surrounded by bookish romance. I look forward to attending next year!

Thank you to @thebronxisreading for the opportunity to attend! #gifted taken in Andrew Freedman Home by @chailitadventures

My first time and most probably the last time l attend Book Con. I purchased a Saturday ticket when the second round of tickets were released in December.
Glows:
-I was selected for the Harper book club. The Book Club For Troublesome Women by Marie Bostwick, isn’t what I would usually pick up. I’m so glad I got an opportunity to read it. The book explores the life of American women in the suburbs during the 1960s.
During the panel, the author spoke about not including the “husbands” in the original plot line. I’m glad they were included.
Walt and Charlotte are two of the characters that I enjoyed following along in the book. I bounced back and forth from reading the physical and listening to the audiobook! | recommend adding it to your TBR!
-After continuously refreshing the reservation page while at the event, I was able to get a seat for the RF Kuang panel. I haven’t read any of her books, but after attending the panels, I have added her upcoming release, Taipei Story, to my TBR.
-I scored the ARC for Amy Daws new book, Bad Boy Era, the last in her Mountain Men
Matchmaker Series from Harper Collins Publisher.-I got an e-arc for
Kennedy Ryan’s new book, Score, from Booktrovert. I haven’t read any of her books yet, looking forward to reading the arc.
-Seeing the bedroom setup from the book covers of The Babysitter’s
Club series at the Scholastic Booth made my inner millennial child very happy. It is one of the book series I remember fondly from my childhood.
-Not pictured, winning a bookish tote from ThriftBooks
-I went to The Grove to take a break and sit down and accidentally ended up getting a seat for the Tropetails Mocktail Drink making class (that started
90 minutes later).-A shout-out to La Croix for keeping us hydrated and having a nice setup with seating!
-I was mindful of what I wanted to bring home from the trinket table and I picked this bookmark, which perfectly matched my experience at #BookCon2026.
Grow:
-I requested an ADA bracelet issued by BookCon and no
accommodations were provided while waiting in the queues. I ended up aggravating my injury, which led to a weeklong flare. taken in Jacob K Javits Convention Center by @chailitadventures

Better late than never. Back in January, thanks to @therippedbodice BK I was able to attend a mini oasis on a cold, rainy NYC day. The ‘People We Meet On Vacation’ NYC pop-up was held to celebrate the movie being released on @netflixfilm. My arrival at the pop-up aligned with @emilyhenrywrites reading an excerpt from the book! There were mini bites and drinks and swag to take home. I definitely recommend checking out both the ‘People We Meet On Vacation’ book by @emilyhenrywrites and the movie on @netflix Thank you to @therippedbodice BK and @netflix for the opportunity to attend the pop-up preview. taken in New York, New York by @chailitadventures

On Monday, I attended authorabbyjimenez’s NYC book tour stop for her newest book, “The Night We Met”. @lucasiverson_ did a wonderful job reading an excerpt from the book. The evening was hosted by @brisacarleton . Abby revealed the title of the next book in the series, “Feels Like Falling.” She said it would be Mike’s redemption story, releasing in Spring 2027. taken in Symphony Space by @chailitadventures

Better late than never, I added a personal, @chailitadventures, bookish twist to the 2016 trend. If I read these five books in 2016, they would have better prepared me for life in 2026.

Books about:
•intergenerational trauma
•chronic illness diagnosis
•stress management
•aging parents
•Desi stigma of “what will people say?” taken in New York by @chailitadventures
