Casting is one of the most delicate stages of jewelry making. Sometimes tiny pores or defects appear in the silver. Some can be fixed by hand, but others mean starting the entire casting process again.

I love the idea of placing a drawing beneath a transparent stone, making it part of the design.

This time, I created a one-of-a-kind ring with amethyst, inspired by a sea anemone. The stone looks as if it’s caught in its tentacles, about to be swallowed, while the amethyst itself gives the creature its color, almost as if it were alive.
