ALSO.

A collaborative album by Jaco van der Merwe (@jacofundermerwe), FRNGE (@unclefrnge) and trxstxssx (@imtrxstxssx).

Between 2014 and 2016, Jaco wrote a series of poems, each beginning with the word “Also”. These poems were eventually collected and published as a book in 2020.

What began as conversations about accompanying the poetry with music gradually evolved into something sentimental for all three of us.

Created in waves over five years, ALSO is a 17-track exploration of spoken word, experimental sound and atmosphere.

Artwork by Kyle Kemink (@kem.inc) , who also designed the original book.

Released through Chamber Collective (@chamber.core) & Wêreld (@wereld_sa)

Available now on all major streaming platforms, and available to purchase on Bandcamp. Black and white cover with text reading: ALSO, Poems written by Jaco van der Merwe, Songs by FRNGE & trxstxssx taken in ALSO by @chamber.core

A NEW CHAT, IS A PERSON is out now, everywhere.

A NEW CHAT, IS A PERSON is a raw, introspective single that explores the blurred lines between digital connection and human presence. Dark and minimal, the track invites listeners into a soundscape where technology and identity collide, leaving space for reflection and unease.

Mastering: Chamber Collective

Chamber Collective welcomes trxstxssx with his single on the collective, out 30 May.
A NEW CHAT, IS A PERSON
30 May. @chamber.core
You don’t have to reply. But you probably will.

I made this during a time when I felt more like a username than a person. It’s quiet, messy, emotional, and full of things I didn’t know how to say. I hope it means something to someone else too.

Music video drops Friday, 30 May 2025.
Available on BandCamp and chambercollective.net on 30 May.
Streaming everywhere the same day.
