A SOMOS Artist Residency with ZAC CHAMBERS
In collaboration with Madre

Zac rolled in after taking the @madremezcal × @houseofsomos win by a landslide.
He arrived, Dropped his bags, and got right to work. But not just inside the studio.
Zac explored, searching for inspiration. The beach, the town’s only road. New friends, new experiences, new ideas.

That’s where Zach Chambers’ process began for his art residency.
He came to paint, but also to know the land and its customs. For two weeks, the same cycle: out… observe… return to paint.

He arrived for a residency, but left far more intertwined with it.

And that was probably the point all along.

Full video out now on YouTube.

🇲🇽 A shrine of art and architecture.

🌵 This place changed the way I see art, space, and history.

🌋 Museo Anahuacalli. Part museum, part temple, part time machine.

🎨 Built by Diego Rivera with Indigenous artisans, it houses 50,000+ pre-Hispanic artifacts and still hosts emerging Mexican artists today.

🇲🇽 A place where México remembers itself. Visitors get a glimpse into a culture’s creative beauty (past, present, future). And where I found much inspiration for my own work.

🎟️ Free entry with your Frida Kahlo Museum ticket
🔥 Don’t skip it

ARTIST RESIDENCY // @chamberszac

As Zac’s residency comes to an end, we welcome you his open studio tonight!

His two weeks flew by, but his time was put to good use, with 13 unique pieces filling up our walls.

“The last couple of weeks in Santa Teresa were spent working in heat and humidity. Driving through rivers, surfing badly, late nights of coco locos, and crushing cafe to catch the sunrise and do it all again. These paintings come from that pace: raw, physical, and grounded in the space where work and play overlap.” - Zac

Join us tonight at 7:30, have a chat with the artist, and even take home your favorite piece.

Also, make sure to try out our new drink menu in collaboration with ponyboyny !

Art, style, family, friends, and a whole lot of love under the High Line.

What a night celebrating @paul_fredrick’s 40th anniversary Made in America collection.

Still can’t quite believe I get to do this.

To everyone who showed up, and to the good people at Paul Fredrick who made it all happen, thank y’all. Truly.

Studio fit check.

My mom decked us out in Duckhead gear growing up so it’s fun when we get a little present from them in the mail. Literally was in the 40s (F) today while biking in the studio so I had to throw on the waxed canvas jacket.

Recent commission.

40” × 30” acrylic on cotton canvas.

Had the honor of making this piece as a gift from a client to her husband for a life milestone.

The maestro mezcalero moves through a landscape shaped by forces much older than him. Tending things whose growth can’t be rushed. Behind him is distance traveled. Around him, the evidence of years spent cultivating. Ahead, more earth to cross. The land is life. Not something to conquer. Something to tend. Something to endure. To inherit. And eventually become. Had the honor of making this piece as a gift from a client to her husband for a landmark birthday. The concept became centered around the sacred relationship between la tierra — specifically that of México — and life’s journey. All its beauty, grit, patience and transformation.
The mountains represent both the challenges we encounter and the distance traveled. The agave felt especially fitting — cultivated patiently over years before reaching maturity and eventually offering something entirely its own. There’s something deeply human in that process.
At the center, a maestro mezcalero moves through the landscape, surrounded by the plants he’s spent years tending. The piece loosely draws from the idea of 40 as a threshold: a shift from simply building and becoming toward reflecting, integrating and understanding what we’ve cultivated along the way.

A classic, turned up a bit.

Built this one around @paulfredrick’s new blue houndstooth trench from their Made in America collection. Big pattern, lambswool texture, and enough going on to let the rest of the fit stay simple.

The full collection drops tomorrow. Along with the six artworks I made inspired by it. Really excited to finally share what we’ve been working on. taken in Brooklyn, New York by @chamberszac

Something special I’ve been working on.

Six large original works. Paintings and textile pieces. Alongside six photographic prints by my brother (my actual brother) @thisguykirk, all inspired by @paulfredrick’s new Made in America collection.

Kirk and I have worked with our good friends at PF on campaigns for the past few years, and last year they acquired three of my paintings for their first store in Boca Raton. So getting the opportunity to come back and create something on an even bigger scale feels pretty damn special.

The Made in America collection drops October 1. Proud of this one, and grateful to have been trusted with it.

More soon.

A few fits without paint on them…yet.

Always loved a good Oxford. Suit, shorts, trousers, beat-up denim. Doesn’t really matter what you pair it with. It’s one of those pieces that just hits the vibe.
